  • the Anti-Terrorism luggage design is different from ordinary luggage because of one major difference. While it looks and works like a regular piece of luggage as shown in FIGS. 1 A- 1 D (duffel style bag) and in FIGS. 3A-3D (wheeled upright suitcase style), it is in reality not. What separates my invention from other types of luggage is the ability to be able to unzip the outer cloth or vinyl shell and to be able to see the contents of the bag which are protected in a heavy duty plastic inner shell. This enables airport screeners to more effectively search people's luggage without always having to open up the bag to see what is inside. This helps to protect traveler's privacy, while still allowing the Transit Security Administration to do its job and combat terrorism.

Abstract

My invention, the Fast Check Anti-terrorism Luggage, consists of two major parts. The first is a cloth outer shell like the kind used on the outsides of many types of luggage bags. The outer shell can be unzipped revealing a clear plastic inner shell that contains the actual luggage. The inner shell is connected to the outer shell on the top of the bag as a lining is connected to the shell on a regular bag (duffel) and is connected to the front and back sides on the wheeled style suitcase on its spine. The inner shell functions as both a lining, and a antiterrorism device. The contents of the bag can be easily seen so that it is not always necessary to open and search all bags. Also the inner shell, since it is plastic is easily cleaned up if something is spilled. Other than these special features, my invention is a simple duffel or wheeled style piece of luggage that is common today all over the world.

    • BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • The field to which my invention relates to is travel, luggage design, and anti-terrorism efforts. My invention helps to solve the problem posed to baggage screeners having to open and rummage through pieces of luggage in order to see the contents inside. My invention will allow screeners to more effectively check pieces of luggage in a shorter amount of time, and in some cases not even have to check them at all since the interior contents of the bag are visible.     • BRIEF SUMMERY OF THE INVENTION
  • The Fast Check Anti-terrorism Luggage design is a type of suitcase that will allow Transit Security Administration screeners to more effectively do their jobs by allowing them to see inside of the piece of luggage without in many cases having to open the luggage up and search through the items inside. This is possible because of the clear inner shell that protects the contents of the bag, yet still allows airport screeners to see what is inside. This will allow the TSA to be more efficient and give passengers a quicker trip through baggage lines as well as provide a sense of security to them.[0005]

    • DESCRIPTION OF ANTI-TERRORISM LUGGAGE
  • The Anti-Terrorism luggage design is different from ordinary luggage because of one major difference. While it looks and works like a regular piece of luggage as shown in FIGS. [0024] 1A-1D (duffel style bag) and in FIGS. 3A-3D (wheeled upright suitcase style), it is in reality not. What separates my invention from other types of luggage is the ability to be able to unzip the outer cloth or vinyl shell and to be able to see the contents of the bag which are protected in a heavy duty plastic inner shell. This enables airport screeners to more effectively search people's luggage without always having to open up the bag to see what is inside. This helps to protect traveler's privacy, while still allowing the Transit Security Administration to do its job and combat terrorism.
  • To use my invention is a simple process. The outside shell is unzipped from the bottom of the bag (FIG. 1C) with two zippers that travel up the front and back of the bag, stopping at a point on top of the bag (FIG. 1D) that when unzipped will allow luggage screeners to see the top (FIG. 2D), bottom (FIG. 2C), and all sides of the bag and its contents (FIG. 2A, 2B) without having to open up the bag itself, just the outer shell. The outside flaps are be pulled up allowing this process to be completed as shown in FIGS. 2A-2D. The outer shell zippers are protected by a flap that can be extended over them, keeping them clean, undamaged, and concealed from view. The inner shell is affixed to the inside of the cloth outer shell on the top of the bag to keep the bag together as a whole. [0025]
  • To operate the wheeled suitcase style bag is almost the same. First unzip the suitcase starting at the bottom part of the bag (FIGS. 3E). This will separate the front and back of the bag and allow the contents inside to be examined without having them removed (FIGS. 4A-4C). This will allow the luggage screeners to see the contents of the interior from the top, bottom and side views. In the wheeled style case, the inner shell is connected to the side/spine of the case. Another benefit to the inner plastic shell is its ability to keep spilled liquids from seeping out of the bag, and possibly wetting other luggage or scaring passengers or airport personnel believing it to be a chemical or biological terrorist attack.   • In addition to this, a modification to this design which splits the inner shell into clear plastic section with room for one or two large items in each section would allow for an even more through inspection of the luggage. The sections would be separate from each other and accessed by separate zippers (wheeled style luggage) or by compartments (duffel style luggage) that are loaded through the top of the bag. [0027]
  • In every other way, the Anti-Terrorism luggage is just like regular duffel bag style or wheeled suitcase style luggage. Items are be placed inside through a zippered opening on top-in the duffel style bag—that gives access to the inner shell or in the case of the wheeled suitcase by opening the outer shell and by simply unzipping the inner shell. All of these features contribute to this invention's uniqueness, usefulness, merit, and ability to help with national security. [0028]

Claims (7)

1. What I claim as my invention is a piece of luggage with an unzippable outer shell.
2. The invention has a inner plastic shell that allows the contents of the bag to be inspected by airport security officials without having to open the entire bag just the unzippable outer shell, to see the contents inside.
3. The invention has the plastic inner shell connected with the cloth outer shell on top to facilitate the easy loading of the bag in the duffel style bag.
4. The invention (wheeled suitcase form) has the inner plastic shell connected to the front and rear sections of the bag through its (the wheeled suitcase's) side/spine.
5. The invention is loaded through the inner shell opposite the spine (wheeled style only).
6. The invention is loaded through a zippered opening on the top (duffel bag style) which gives access to the inner shell of the bag.
7. The inner shell of the invention can also be modified to be split into sections that are loaded separately.
