Abstract

The Third Hand Stand is a triple stand for one soldering iron that consists of one stand that holds the soldering iron in leaning working position instead of safety position, a second stand that holds the soldering iron in horizontal working position and a third one regular stand for safety position.

Description

  • BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • Tool used in assembling and repair of metal, electric and electronic devices. [0003]
  • BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • Until today personnel at production plants and electronics laboratories work with a traditional stand (FIG. 2) to hold the soldering iron in a neutral position to avoid harm to the operator or damage to the materials around, and that is all the use of a commercial stand, very often the operator needs to hold one material with one hand and other with the second hand and wishes to have a third hand to hold and manage the soldering iron, in these cases the operator gets help from another people or has to temporary assemble other objects like books for example to hold one of the materials to weld or the soldering iron itself, the Third Hand Stand solves this problem, it is a device that might replace any actual soldering iron stand, it is actually three stands in one (FIG. 3,[0004] 4,5), one of them is the traditional stand to hold the soldering iron (s.iron) in neutral position, the other two features are my own idea of design to hold the s,iron in a standing, firm and useful position actually as a helper who holds the s.iron in the meantime the operator uses her/his two hands same time to hold the two different materials to weld easier and faster.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE SEVERAL VIEWS OF THE DRAWING
  • FIG. 1.—general view of the Third Hand Stand (THS) with its three different features. [0005]
  • FIG. 2.—Traditional stand of a commercial firm. [0006]
  • FIG. 3.—THS with s.iron stationed in neutral position on regular stand. [0007]
  • FIG. 4.—THS with soldering iron in the horizontal working stand, this position is the most common use, it keeps the soldering droplets on the heating element of the s.iron. [0008]
  • FIG. 5.—THS with s.iron in the leaning working stand, it allows the operator to weld tiny points in electronic cards and other devices. [0009]
  • FIG. 6,[0010] 7,8. Measurements in cm. Scale 2:1
  • FIG. 6.—THS left profile. [0011]
  • FIG. 7.—THS upper view. [0012]
  • FIG. 8.—THS front view.[0013]
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • The Third Hand Stand can be made of any solid material like hard plastic, bakelite or wood, the prototype I built is made out of solid wood block 20×7×9 cm. carved on one end to wet spounge and in the other end are located the three stands (FIG. 1). [0014]
  • 1st. The neutral stand is made of steel (FIG. 1,[0015] 3,6.).
  • 2nd. The horizontal holding stand (FIG. 4,6;[0016] 7,8.) is a cylinder made of PBS plastic, could be made of any other material, mounted on top of a small wood block with a slot carved on top and along the cylinder to allow the cord of the soldering iron slide. in and the s.iron rests inside the cylinder wich is oriented in horizontal position in order for the hot element of the s.iron lay over the spounge FIG. 4,6,7,8.) with an angle deviation of aproximate 12 degrees pointing out to the center of the spounge.
  • 3rd. The leaning holding stand is a conical-shaped hole drilled in the block to hold the handle of the s.iron with a slot at front to introduce the s.iron cord, the s.iron stays at 70 degrees aproximate lent position in order for the hot element stand over the wet spounge (FIG. 1,[0017] 5,6,7,8.).

Claims (2)

I would like to divide my one-only original claim in two parts
1. What I claim as my invention is the concept of a stand that holds the soldering iron in a working position instead of a safety position as every stand in the market does to my knowledge.
2. What I claim as my design is that the Third Hand Stand includes a regular stand for safety position plus two more stands in the same piece the type of my invention: One to hold the soldering iron in lent working position, and another to hold the s.iron in horizontal working position.
