Abstract
A moist paper towel package includes a bag body and a cover sheet. The bag body includes a top wall formed with a tear-off seam defining a pull tab precursor. The cover sheet has one side which is provided with an adhesive layer and which is adhered to the top wall. The cover sheet covers entirely the pull tab precursor and the tear-off seam and covers a portion of the top wall surrounding the pull tab precursor. The tear-off seam is tearable to form the pull tab precursor into a pull tab when a portion of the cover sheet is pulled away from the top wall.
Description
- This application claims priority of Taiwanese application No. 091211525, filed on Jul. 26, 2002.
- 1. Field of the Invention
- The invention relates to a moist paper towel package, more particularly to a moist paper towel package capable of preventing cleansing solution contained in the moist paper towels from damaging releasable adhesive on a cover of the package.
- 2. Description of the Related Art
- Referring to FIG. 1, a conventional moist paper towel package is shown to include a stack of
moist paper towels 2, a bag body 4 for receiving themoist paper towels 2 therein, and acover member 30. - The bag body 4 has a
top wall 41 formed with anopening 42 for drawing of themoist paper towels 2 out of the bag body 4. Thecover member 30 is provided on thetop wall 41 for covering the opening 42. Themoist paper towels 2 contain cleansing solution. - Since the
moist paper towels 2 are not isolated from theopening 42, the cleansing solution contained in themoist paper towels 2 is liable to evaporate from themoist paper towels 2. Therefore, the storage period of the conventional moist paper towel package is relatively short. Furthermore, if the cleansing solution contains an ingredient capable of removing adhesive, the adhesive effect between thecover member 30 and thetop wall 41 of the bag body 4 maybe destroyed. - Therefore, the object of the present invention is to provide a moist paper towel package having a relatively long storage period and capable of preventing cleansing solution contained in moist paper towels from damaging releasable adhesive of a cover on the package.
- The moist paper towel package according to this invention includes a moist paper towel, a bag body, and a cover sheet. The moist paper towel contains a cleansing solution. The bag body receives the moist paper towel therein, and includes a top wall formed with a tear-off seam defining a pull tab precursor. The pull tab precursor has one end connected integrally and permanently to the top wall and a remaining end other than said one end. The remaining end is surrounded by the tear-off seam. The tear-off seam is discontinuous at said one end of the pull tab precursor.
- Other features and advantages of the present invention will become apparent in the following detailed description of the preferred embodiments with reference to the accompanying drawings, of which:
- FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a conventional moist paper towel package;
- FIG. 2 is an exploded perspective view of the first preferred embodiment of the moist paper towel package according to this invention;
- FIG. 3 is a sectional view of the first preferred embodiment in a covered state in which a pull tab precursor is formed on a top wall of a bag body;
- FIG. 4 is a sectional view of the first preferred embodiment in an uncovered state to illustrate how the pull tab precursor is formed into a pull tab;
- FIG. 5 is a sectional view of the first preferred embodiment in a covered state in which the pull tab is covered on the top wall of the bag body;
- FIG. 6 is a fragmentary sectional view showing a tear-off seam of the second preferred embodiment of the moist paper towel package according to this invention;
- FIG. 7 is a fragmentary sectional view showing a tear-off seam of the third preferred embodiment of the moist paper towel package according to this invention;
- FIG. 8 is a perspective view of the fourth preferred embodiment of the moist paper towel package according to this invention; and
- FIG. 9 is a perspective view of the fifth preferred embodiment of the moist paper towel package according to this invention.
- Referring to FIGS. 2 to 5, the first preferred embodiment of a moist paper towel package according to this invention is shown to include a stack of
moist paper towels 2, abag body 1, and acover sheet 3. Themoist paper towels 2 contain a cleansing solution. Thebag body 1 receives the moist paper towels therein, and includes atop wall 11 formed with a tear-offseam 11 defining apull tab precursor 112′. Thepull tab precursor 112′ has oneend 114 connected integrally and permanently to thetop wall 11 and a remainingend 115 other than said oneend 114. Theremaining end 115 is surrounded by the tear-offseam 111. The tear-off seam 111 is discontinuous at said one end of thepull tab precursor 112′. Furthermore, in this embodiment, the tear-off seam 111 is in a U shape and is formed by a perforated line. Thecover sheet 3 can be made of a gas impermeable film. Preferably, thecover sheet 3 is made of a material resistant to the cleansing solution contained in themoist paper towels 2. Thecover sheet 3 has oneside 32 which is provided with anadhesive layer 31 and which is adhered to thetop wall 11. Thecover sheet 3 covers entirely thepull tab precursor 112′ and the tear-offseam 111 and covers a portion of thetop wall 11 surrounding thepull tab precursor 112′. The tear-off seam 111 is tearable to form thepull tab precursor 112′ into apull tab 112 when a portion of thecover sheet 3 is pulled away from thetop wall 11. Thepull tab 112 is bonded permanently to thecover sheet 3, and thecover sheet 3 is adhered releasably and repositionally to thetop wall 11. Anopening 113 for drawing themoist paper towels 2 out of thebag body 1 is formed on thetop wall 11 of thebag body 1 after the tear-offseam 111 is torn. - Since the
opening 113 is formed after the tear-offseam 111 is torn, and since theopening 113 can be covered by thepull tab 112 when thecover sheet 3 once again covers thetop wall 11 of thebag body 1, the sealing effect to prevent drying of themoist paper towels 2 can be enhanced, and the risk of damage to theadhesive layer 31 on thecover sheet 3 by exposure to the cleansing solution can also be reduced. - The tear-off
seam 111 formed on thetop wall 11 of thebag body 1 can be modified in various forms. For example, the tear-off seam 111″ illustrated in FIG. 8 is formed as a curved perforated line. The tear-off seam 111′ illustrated in FIG. 6 is formed as a plurality of embossed dents spaced apart from each other. The tear-offseam 111′ illustrated in FIG. 7 is formed as an embossed elongate dent. The tear-off seam 114 illustrated in FIG. 9 is formed as a slit. - While the present invention has been described in connection with what is considered the most practical and preferred embodiments, it is understood that this invention is not limited to the disclosed embodiments but is intended to cover various arrangements included within the spirit and scope of the broadest interpretation so as to encompass all such modifications and equivalent arrangements.
