Abstract
A roller skate with a micro adjustment device includes a wheel frame, a quarter and a vamp, the wheel frame has a first chain and slots on both sides, and a second chain on top surface thereof, the vamp also comprises a third chain and holes on both sides as well, a quick release device is inserted with its shaft through the holes of the vamp and the slots of the wheel frame that aligns the first chain and the third chain, the shaft secures a gear aligns with the second chain, by tightening and loosening of the quick release device, the gear is adjustable with regard to the second chain, thus the third chain of the vamp is adjustable along the first chain of the wheel frame.
Description
- This invention relates to a roller skate, and more particularly to a roller skate with a micro adjustable device for different users.
- There are various brands of roller skates on the market. Each skate has a size to fit a user with the size of feet. However, when the user grows up, the size will not fit anymore, and the skate has to be replaced, which is not cost effectiveness. An adjustable skater is disclosed later on, which comprises a front and a rear sections, by adjusting one of the sections, the skater's size may be changed to fit users with different sizes of feet. These skaters may have a heavy weight, which will hurt the user's ankles. Further the adjustment is large scale, therefore, in many times the adjusting size is either slightly large or small.
- In view of these and many other shortcomings, the inventor has invented the present invention to do a micro adjustment.
- It is the primary object of the present invention to provide a roller skate with a micro adjustment device, which uses a micro adjustment to acquire the most desirable size for a user.
- It is another object of the present invention to provide a roller skate with a micro adjustment device, which uses less parts, therefore has less weight and less burden to a user.
- It is a further object of the present invention to provide a roller skate. with a micro adjustment device, which is inexpensive in manufacture.
- FIG. 1 is an exploded view of the present invention;
- FIG. 2 is a side view of the present invention;
- FIG. 3 is a side view of FIG. 2, partially sectioned;
- FIG. 4 is an enlarged view of a quick release device in a loosening status, and
- FIG. 5 is a view similar to FIG. 4, with the quick release device in a tightened status.
- A roller skate with a micro adjustment device of the present invention is generally composed of a
wheel frame 1, aquarter 2, and avamp 3. - The
wheel frame 1 is identical to the prior art, and which comprises atop board 17 with twoside boards 18 extending downward for both sides, underneath theside boards 18, there are fourwheels 16 secured thereat. The improvement is that a pair offirst chains 12 is formed on eachside board 18, and eachfirst chain 12 has aslot 11, thetop board 17 has asecond chain 13 underneath the surface, and the top of thewheel frame 1 comprises a pair offront holes 14 and arear hole 15. - The
quarter 2 is secured to the rear section of thetop board 17 of thewheel frame 1, having a pair offront holes 21 and arear hole 22. - The
vamp 3 is secured on the front section of thetop board 17 of thewheel frame 1, with two sides extending downward to formside boards 31 which has athird chain 33 at inner end in align with thefirst chain 12. Thethird chain 33 comprises ahole 32 corresponding to theslot 11. Thevamp 3 has aslot 38 at front bottom. Thequarter 2 is secured to thevamp 3 by aquick release device 34. Thequick release device 34 uses apin 35 to connect adisc 361 of ashaft 36. Theshaft 36 has agear 37 to mesh with thesecond chain 13 of thewheel frame 1. - To assemble the present invention, as shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, insert a bolt A and a washer Al through the
rear hole 22 of thequarter 2 and therear hole 15 of thewheel frame 1 and secured by a nut A2 from the other side thereof. Uses two rivets B to insert through thefront holes 21 of thequarter 2, theslot 38 of thevamp 3 and thefront holes 14 of thewheel frame 1 and riveted withwashers B 1 from the other end thereof. This way, thefirst chain 12 of thewheel frame 1 and thethird chain 33 of thevamp 3 are meshed together, as shown in FIG. 4. Thegear 37 is placed between the twoside boards 18 of thewheel frame 1. Theshaft 36 of thequick release device 34 is inserted through a washer C1, thehole 32 of thevamp 3, the slot ii of thewheel frame 1, and thegear 37, and then fastened by a C-snap ring C. This prevents thequick release device 34 loosening from thehole 32 of thevamp 3 and thesot 11 of thewheel frame 1. This step also makes thegear 37 of theshaft 36 meshes with thesecond chain 13, thus thewheel frame 1, thequarter 2 and thevamp 3 are secured together. - When in use, as shown in FIG. 4, loosen the
quick release device 34, which releases the meshing status of thefirst chain 12 of thewheel frame 1 from thethird chain 33 of thevamp 3, thus thewheel frame 1 and thevamp 3 are able to move with respect to each other. By rotating theshaft 36 of thequick release device 34, also rotate thegear 37 which links thesecond chain 2 to rotate simultaneously, and theshaft 36 slides along theslot 11 of thewheel frame 1, whereas thevamp 3 may also slide along the rivet B with theslot 38. When thevamp 3 has reached to an appropriate position, as shown in FIG. 5, thequick release device 34 is tightened to force thethird chain 33 of thevamp 3 and thefirst chain 12 of thewheel frame 1 meshing together, and confine any relative movement of the two 12 and 33. Since the sizes of the teeth of thechains first chain 12, thethird chain 33 and thegear 37 are relative small, the adjustments are also very small, which can fit the size to the most appropriation.
