Abstract

The Quick Draw Card (“QDC”) is a convenient card holder and dispensing device housing a plurality of cards with the ability to pull one card at a time while moving the next card forward for easy dispension with the help of a bow spring mechanism inside the holder. The holder is small in size, similar to a standard business card and can clip into your belt (much like cellular phone can) or inside or on your purse. It measures approximately 2.5″×3¾″×¼″ with a clip on the back for horizontal mounting and a finger or thumb size opening on the front of the holder to pull cards out so they can exit through a horizontal opening on the top side of the holder. The inside has a bow spring mechanism to push forward the next business card after dispensing the card on top. The clip allows for a holder that is not easily scratched or bent as those are which fit into your pocket. The construction of the card holder and dispensing device could be constructed of metal, plastic or other suitable material that could withstand time with proper use.
The spirit and scope of the concept is what is being patented. All descriptions and figures are provided to give the Patent Board a more clear concept or idea of what is being proposed. The final card holder and dispensing device may vary in material construction, clip mechanism and internal spring to keep cards “pushed forward.”

Description

  • This invention is a convenient card holder and dispensing device capable of accommodating up to 25 standard size business cards at a time. The card holder and dispensing device has a spring bow mechanism which keeps the top card close to the top of the finger or thumb size dispensing area for easy dispensing. Most people in business have a card with pertinent information they hand out almost on a daily basis to promote their business or profession. It is common practice to hand out your business card at meetings, networking seminars, lunches and the like, specifically when meeting new people business card exchange is very common, if not expected. Historically, a person would keep their card in a handbag, wallet or pocket to keep them handy for distribution. The problem associated with carrying cards in the manner is the cards often come out wrinkled, bent, stained, and one may have to fumble to find the card, which could be embarrassing in many settings. The card holder and dispensing device alleviates these problems. The card holder and dispensing device is compact, easy to use and super convenient. [0001]
  • Advantages of the card holder and dispensing device invention shall become apparent as the description thereof proceeds when considered in connection with the accompanying illustrative drawings. [0002]
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWING
  • In the drawing which show the best mode presently contemplated for the card holder and dispensing device you will see pictures which are provided to give the Patent Board an idea of the concept of what is being patented, the concept of the card holder and dispensing device, not necessarily the exact measurements of the device, and specifically the clip shown herein: [0003]
  • FIG. 1 is a proposed front view with approximate measurements of the card holder and dispensing device; [0004]
  • FIG. 2 is a proposed side view of a proposed clip with approximate measurements. This Figure shows a clip which works much like a money clip with respect to tension to hold itself in place. However, this example of the clip is only to provide the patent board with an idea of what is being patented. The actual final card holder and dispensing device may have a clip which better resembles that which you might find on the back of a cellular phone or a pager. Again, the concept is what is being patented. [0005]
  • FIG. 3 is a proposed view of the spring mechanism which will be used to “push forward” the cards as the tope card is dispensed. [0006]
  • FIG. 3 is a proposed view of the finger or thumb size opening where the user will place their finger or thumb to remove a card. [0007]
  • FIG. 4 is a proposed back view of the card holder and dispensing device. Note the clip on the back as described in FIG. 3. [0008]
  • Referring to the drawing, FIGS. 1, 2, [0009] 3, and 4 are provided to give the Patent Board a visual idea of the concept being patented. The drawing provides approximate measurements and possible mechanisms for the cavity and the clip of the card holder and dispensing device; however, this is only to provide a visual idea, not to provide specifics for measurements, mechanisms, internally and externally, and material construction.
  • It can therefore be seen that the card holder and dispensing device provides an effective means of housing and dispensing a plurality of cards one at a time from the cavity of the devise. [0010]
  • While it is shown and described herein certain structures providing a visual idea of the concept, it will be manifest to those who are skilled in the art that various modifications and rearrangements of the parts may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the underlying concept and that the same is not limited to the particular forms herein shown and described except insofar as to maintain the spirit and scope of the concept. [0011]
  • The card holder and dispensing device is compact in size, easy to carry and use. For this reason the card holder and dispensing device is believed to represent a significant advancement in the card holder and dispensing device arena and has substantial commercial merit. [0012]

Claims (7)

What is claimed is:
1. The card holder and dispensing device is approximately 2.5″×3¾″×¼″, which can accommodate up to 25 cards.
