head 2 comprises ahollow shell 21 formed of two symmetric halves abutted against each other, thehollow shell 21 having abottom coupling groove 211 and a plurality of inside locatingrods 212, abeak 22 pivoted to one inside locatingrod 212 and extended out of thehollow shell 21, astop plate 221 perpendicularly downwardly extended from the inner end of thebeak 22, ahook 222 perpendicularly backwardly extended from the back side of thestop plate 221, and aspring 5 connected between thehook 222 and one inside locatingrod 212. - The
base 3 comprises twosensors 31 bilaterally disposed at the front side. - The
power drive 4 comprises atransmission mechanism 41, aholder 42, arotary cap 43, and amotor 44. Themotor 44 is mounted in the bottom side of thecasing 410 of thetransmission mechanism 41, having adrive wheel 441 fixedly mounted on the output shaft thereof. Thetransmission mechanism 41 comprises a drivengear wheel 411, atransmission belt 6 coupled to thedrive wheel 441 and the drivengear wheel 411, afirst transmission gear 412 meshed with the drivengear wheel 411, asecond transmission gear 413 meshed with thefirst transmission gear 412, athird transmission gear 414 meshed with thesecond transmission gear 413, anoutput gear 415 fixedly mounted on thegear shaft 7 of thesecond transmission gear 413, and anoutput wheel 416 fixedly mounted on thegear shaft 7 of thethird transmission gear 414. Theoutput wheel 416 has aneccentric rod 4161. Theholder 42 is fixedly fastened to the topside of thecasing 410 of thetransmission mechanism 41 by fastening elements, for example, screws 8, comprising throughholes 421;423, and a plurality ofupright guide rods 422. Therotary cap 43 is revolvably supported on theholder 42, comprising a center throughhole 432 and two oppositearched slots 431 respectively coupled to theupright guide rods 422 of theholder 42, aninternal gear 433, a plurality ofupright rods 434, and a locatingplate 45 coupled to theupright rods 434. The locatingplate 45 has aslot 451. Theaforesaid output gear 415 is inserted through thethrough hole 421 of theholder 42 and meshed with theinternal gear 433. Therefore, rotating theoutput wheel 416 causes therotary cap 43 to be alternatively rotated forwards and backwards and the locatingplate 45 to be reciprocated back and fro. - During assembly process, the
holder 2 is coupled to thetop coupling groove 111 of thehollow shell 11 of thebody 1, and then thebottom coupling groove 211 of thehollow shell 21 of thehead 2 is coupled to therotary cap 43, keeping the locatingplate 45 stopped against the back side of thestop plate 221, and then thebody 1 is fixedly mounted on the topside of thebase 3, keeping themotor 44 electrically connected to thesensors 31. - Referring to FIGS. 5, 6, 6A, 7, 7A, 8, 8A, and 8B, the
sensors 31 respectively control themotor 44 to rotate forwards or backwards. When started themotor 44, thedrive wheel 441 is turned to rotate the drivengear wheel 411 through thetransmission belt 6, thereby causing thetransmission gears 412;413;414 to be rotated. During rotary motion of thetransmission gears 412;413;414, theoutput gear 415 is synchronously rotated with thesecond transmission gear 413 to further rotate therotary cap 43 and thehead 2, and theoutput wheel 416 is synchronously rotated with thethird transmission gear 414, causing theeccentric rod 4161 to reciprocate the locatingplate 45 back and fro. During forward movement of the locatingplate 45, the locatingplate 45 pushes thestop plate 221, thereby causing thebeak 22 to be turned upwards to stretch thespring 5. During backward movement of the locatingplate 45, thespring 5 pulls thehook 222 downwards to return thebeak 22 to its former position. Further, thebeak 22 can be made having a fixed lower mandible fixedly fastened to thehead 2 and an upper mandible pivoted to thehead 2, so that the upper mandible is alternatively turned up and down relative to the lower mandible upon reciprocating motion of the locatingplate 45. - When the user passed by to trigger the
sensors 31 in one direction, thesensors 31 drive themotor 44 to rotate clockwise, thereby causing thehead 2 to be turned in the same direction, and at the same time thespeaker 12 is driven by thesensors 31 to produce sound. On the contrary, when the user passed by to trigger thesensors 31 in the reversed direction, thesensors 31 drive themotor 44 to rotate counter-clockwise, thereby causing thehead 2 to be turned in the reversed direction, and at the same time thespeaker 12 is driven to produce sound. - Furthermore, the
base 3 can be directly formed integral with thebody 1. - A prototype of motion toy has been constructed with the features of the annexed drawings of FIGS. 1-8. The motion toy functions smoothly to provide all of the features discussed earlier.
- Although a particular embodiment of the invention has been described in detail for purposes of illustration, various modifications and enhancements may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention. Accordingly, the invention is not to be limited except as by the appended claims.
