Abstract

A water gate opened and closed by oil pressure includes a gate frame having a vertical guide rail on top for an elevating rod to slide up and down. The elevating rod has its lower end connected to the top of a gate body and its upper end inserted in the guide rail and pivotally connected with a swing lever, having rollers provided on a roller shaft for the elevating rod to slide smoothly in the guide rail. The gate body has pulleys provided on two opposite sides to engage the rails of the gate frame, permitting the gate body to smoothly slide up and down along the rails. Then, an oil pressure system controls the piston rod of an oil pressure cylinder to drive the swing lever and the elevating rod to move up and down, synchronously forcing the gate body open and close.

Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • This invention relates to a water gate opened and closed by oil pressure, particularly to one having a simple structure, easy in handling and repairing, and having a function of automatically regulating the water level of an irrigation canal or a reservoir. [0001]
  • A water gate is generally provided at an outlet of an irrigation canal, a reservoir or the like, depending on practical needs. Such a water gate functions to adjust the water level of an irrigation canal or a reservoir so it needs to have equipment to open and close it automatically especially when it fails to be manually controlled in time. [0002]
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • This invention is designed to offer a water gate opened and closed by oil pressure, simple in structure, easy in controlling and having an automatically regulating function in accordance with the water level of an irrigation canal or a reservoir. [0003]
  • The feature of this invention is a guide rail provided vertically on the top center of a gate frame for receiving an elevating rod connected to the top center of a gate body, letting the elevating rod move up and down along the guide rail. The elevating rod has two rollers at two sides of a roller shaft connected to the elevating rod to increase smoothness in sliding along the guide rail. Then a swing lever has an end inserted in the guide rail and connected pivotally with the elevating rod. Besides, plural water seals are respectively provided on two opposite wings of the gate body, and a pair of pulleys is provided on each outer side of the gate body and embedded in an opposite inner side of the gate body frame. Thus, an oil pressure system of this invention controls a swing lever to sway biasly and activate the elevating rod to move up and down in a fixed direction along the guide rail and then make the gate body open and close automatically.[0004]
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS

  • FIG. 7 is a perspective view of the water gate opened and closed by oil pressure in the present invention. [0012]
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
  • A preferred embodiment of a water gate opened and closed by oil pressure in this invention, as shown in FIGS. 1, 5, [0013] 6 and 7, includes a two-way oil pressure system, a gate frame 11, a guide rail 12, a gate body 13, an elevating rod 16 and a swing lever 17 as main components combined together.
  • The two-way oil pressure system, referring to FIG. 1, consists of an [0014] oil pressure cylinder 1, a stop valve 2, a manual direction valve 3, a manual oil pump 4 with a stop valve 5 and an oil filter 6, an electric oil pump 7 with a stop valve 8 and an oil filter 9, and an oil chamber 10 as main components, (Either the manual or the electrical oil pump is used optionally or the both can be used in parallel). When the manual direction valve 3 is pulled up to let oil flowing out and the oil pumps 4 and 7 start pumping oil, the piston rod 1A of the oil pressure cylinder 1 will extend upward to push up the swing lever 17 together with the elevating rod 16 and the gate body 13 moved upward to open a water passageway stopped by the water gate. On the contrary, when the manual direction valve 3 is pulled down to let oil flowing reversely out and the oil pump 4 and 7 start bumping the oil again, the piston rod 1A of the oil pressure cylinder 1 will shrink inward and activate the swing arm 17 together with the elevating rod 16 to move downward with the gate body moved down to close the water passageway stopped by the water gate.
  • As shown in FIGS. 5, 6 and [0015] 7, the gate frame 11 has the guide rail 12 vertically disposed on a top center, with a lower end of the guide rail 12 inserted through in the gate frame 11, and two rails 11A respectively provided in opposite inner walls for the gate body to be movably fitted therein.
  • The [0016] gate body 13 is fitted in a space between two sides of the gate frame 11, having two pairs of rollers 14 provided respectively on each outer side for sliding along the rails 11A of the gate frame 11. Besides, the gate body 13 is provided with a water seal 15 on each wing surface contacting water, as shown in FIG. 6.
  • The [0017] elevating rod 16 has its lower end pivotally connected to the top center of the gate body 13, and its top end inserted in the guide rail 12 and connected pivotally with the swing lever 17 therein with a roller shaft 18A. Both the elevating rod 16 and the swing lever 17 are fixed on the same roller shaft 18A of the rollers 18 contacting the guide rail 12, as showing in FIG. 5.
  • Thus, when the piston rod [0018] 1A of the oil pressure cylinder 1 is actuated to extend and shrink repeatedly, the swing lever 17 having one end supported by a support rod 19 is driven to move up and down and activate the elevating rod 16 to slide along the inner walls of the guide rail 12 by means of the rollers 18, and synchronously the gate body 13 will also move up and down along the rails 1 1A of the gate frame 11 by means of the rollers 14.
  • FIG. 2 shows the piston rod [0019] 1A of the oil pressure cylinder 1 is controlled by the oil pressure system to shrink inward entirely, the swing lever 17 moves downward, and the support rod 19 slants inward. At the same time the elevating rod 16 moves downward to push the gate body 13 to close up.
  • FIG. 3 shows that the [0020] gate body 13 is in a half opened condition, with the swing lever 17 positioned horizontally and the support rod 19 remaining perpendicular, and FIG. 4 shows the piston rod 1A of the oil pressure cylinder 1 extends up completely and pushes the swing lever 17 to an uppermost position, with the support rod 19 slanting inward slightly. Then the gate body 13 is driven to move up to a fully opened condition.
  • This invention has some advantages described below. [0021]
  • 1. The [0022] swing lever 17 is connected with the support rod 19 to push the elevating rod 16 to slide along the guide rail 12 in a fixed direction, so the gate body 13 can be driven by the elevating rod 16 to move up and down very precisely.
  • 2. The elevating [0023] rod 16 controls the gate body 13 to move up and down, so the gap between the gate body 13 and the gate frame 11 is extremely small, without possibility of bias mechanical moving and possible to prevent the machine from wearing.
  • 3. Plural rollers are provided to let the elevating rod and the gate body slide along the rails smoothly and the water seals provided to prevent water leaking. [0024]
  • While the preferred embodiment of the invention has been described above, it will be recognized and understood that various modifications may be made therein and the appended claims are intended to cover all such modifications that may fall within the spirit and scope of the invention. [0025]
