Abstract

A small, lightweight golf ball teeing device is disclosed for allowing a golfer to tee up a golf ball without bending or stooping, using a golf club as a handle for the device. A housing on the bottom side of the devise holds a golf tee for insertion into the ground while a golf ball is being supported on another section to be lowered down onto the inserted tee. Then with a sideways motion the device is moved away from the teed golf ball ready to be hit. The devise is attached to the grip end of a golf club shaft which allows the golf club to be used as a handle to operate the device. Additionally the device can be also be used to retrieve the golf tee as well. If the tee is still inserted into the ground, the tee holder is rotated back onto the tee and then the tee is pull up out of the ground. If the tee is lying on the ground, it can be scooped up using the section that had been used to support the golf ball. To the best of my knowledge, this is the only devise of its type that does not use some means of holding the golf ball. All devices I know of either use some form of mechanical device or compression material to hold the golf ball prior placement on the tee.

SUMMARY OF INVENTION

This invention relates to a golf ball teeing devise that allows a golfer to tee there golf ball without having to stoop or bend over. Utilizing a golf club as a handle for the devise. While also allowing the user to use the invention to retrieve the golf tee once the ball has been hit.

This invention has no moving parts and is small and lightweight which allows it to be portable and easily stored using minimal amount of space.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

The present invention relates to golfing accessories and more particularly to a golf tee and ball placement aid FIGS. 1, 2 and [0017] 3 which allows the user to insert a golf tee into the ground and place their golf ball on a golf tee without having to stoop or bend over. The golf tee and ball placement aid 10 will be manufactured out of ABS plastic using an injection molding process and will be a one piece unit consisting of three components, a golf club grip receiving cup 20, golf tee holder 50 and a golf ball rest 11 FIGS. 1, and 3. The golf club grip receiving cup 20 is located on the topside of the invention and will accept the insertion of a golf club grip 70 into it, allowing the golf club 70 to used as a handle to manipulate the device. The golf tee holder 50 is a slotted appendage on the bottom side of the invention directly below the receiver cup 20 and tapered to accept a golf tee 90 into it while holding it securely with the assistance of the gripping material(high density closed cell foam) 60 for inserting the golf tee 90 into the ground. The golf ball rest 11 is a tapered circle hole in the longitudinal section of the invention at 90 degrees to the receiver cup 20 and tee holder 50. The golf ball rest 11 will be of a size that allows the golf ball 80 to protrude below the longitudinal section, which will allow the golf ball 80 to come into contact with and at rest on an inserted golf tee 90. At the end of the longitudinal section there is a passageway 40 cut from the beveled golf ball rest 11 through the outside edge. This passageway 40 will allow the device to be moved away from the golf tee 90 once the golf ball 80 as come to rest on top of the inserted golf tee 90. Although I have mentioned using ABS as the construction material for this device 10, it could also be constructed from any other similar material that can be used in an injection molding process. Also this device 10 can be used to pickup up a golf tee, if the golf tee is still inserted into the ground, the golf tee holder 50 is rotated back onto the golf tee 90 and pulled up out of the ground. If the tee is horizontal on the ground it can be lifted up using the ball holder 11 section of the device.

Claims

I claim:

1. A golf aid for inserting a golf tee into the ground and placement of a golf ball onto the inserted tee, comprising:

A means for holding a golf tee for insertion into the ground.

A means for supporting a golf ball.

A means for moving golf aid away from a teed golf ball.

A means for temporally attaching golf aid to the grip of a golf club shaft.

2. The golf aid of claim 1 wherein said means for holding a golf tee is a Longitudinal slotted appendage on the bottom of the golf aid that includes a cavity, end opening and a means to grip a golf tee.

3. The golf aid of claim 1 wherein said a means for supporting a golf ball is a beveled hole in the longitudinal section of the golf aid adjacent to and at 90 degrees of the means of attaching said golf aid to the grip of a golf club shaft and means of holding a golf tee as described in claim 2.

4. The golf aid of claim 1 wherein said means for moving golf aid away from A teed golf ball is a passageway at the end of the longitudinal section extending to the beveled hole that supports the golf ball.

5. The golf aid of claim 1 wherein said means of temporally attaching golf aid to the grip of a golf club shaft is a circular appendage on the top of the longitudinal section with a cavity for the grip of a golf club shaft to be friction fitted into.

6. The golf aid of claim 2 wherein said a means to grip a golf tee is high density closed cell foam.

7. The golf aid of claim 3 wherein said means of attaching said golf aid to the grip of a golf club shaft is a circular appendage on the top of the longitudinal section with a cavity for the grip of a golf club shaft to be friction fitted into.

8. A method for inserting a golf tee into the ground and placing a golf ball onto the inserted tee, comprising of:

(a) friction fitting the golf aid onto the grip of a golf club shaft, as described in claim 5.

(b) rotating a golf tee into the tee holding section described in claim 2.

(c) Inverting golf club shaft so that the tee is pointing towards the ground.

(d) Place a golf ball onto the ball support described in claim 3.

(e) Insert the golf tee into the ground with a downward motion of the golf shaft, rotate golf aid away from the tee.

(f) Using the golf club shaft, lower the golf ball down onto the inserted tee, continue lowering golf aid until golf ball comes to rest on the golf tee.

(g) Using the passageway described in claim 4, move the golf aid away from the teed golf ball with a sideways motion of the golf club shaft.

9. A method of retrieving a golf tee using this device, comprising of:

(a) Using the tee holding section as described in claim 2, rotate the devise back onto a tee that is still inserted into the ground and pull it up out of the ground.

(b) Using the ball support section as described in claim 3, a tee lying horizontal on the ground can be picked up by sliding the device under it and raising it up.
