Abstract

A luggage capable of converting into a wardrobe comprising an L-shaped bag including a first chamber, a second chamber located under the first chamber, and a third chamber located under the second chamber, the first chamber being able to fold on the second chamber and engaged with the second chamber by zippers, a pull rod mounted on the second chamber and having a handle, the first chamber being provided with a hook engageable with the handle of the pull rod, whereby travelers may have a wardrobe at their destination to enable them to hang up their clothing items thereby preventing further wrinkling and giving the travelers easy access to their clothing and other personal belongings.

Description

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

(a) Field of the Invention

This invention is related to a luggage case which can be easily converted into a wardrobe as required.

(b) Description of the Prior Art

Generally we put personal belongings such as clothes, shoes and the like in a luggage case when travelling. The conventional luggage case has a pull rod and casters for facilitating mobility, and is easily transportable. However, the conventional luggage case is only a rectangular box, and therefore clothes placed inside the case must be folded, making them wrinkled and often unsuitable for immediate wear. In addition, travelers may not have a wardrobe at their destination to enable them to hang up their clothing items, which would prevent further wrinkling and give travelers easy access to their clothing and other personal belongings. Keeping clothing items in the conventional luggage case will cause them to become increasingly misshapen in appearance, and it may be time-consuming to find specific clothing items or the like due to the necessity to stow items in layers in the conventional luggage case.

Therefore, it is an object of the present invention to provide a luggage case which can be easily converted into a wardrobe, so as to prevent such drawbacks.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

This invention is related to an improvement in the structure of a luggage case.

It is the primary object of the present invention to provide a luggage case which can be easily converted into a wardrobe.

It is another object of the present invention to provide a luggage case which enables travelers to have a wardrobe at their destination to enable them to hang up their clothing items thereby preventing further wrinkling and giving the travelers easy access to their clothing and other personal belongings.

It is a further object of the present invention to provide a luggage case wherein the first and second chambers are provided with two zippers at two sides thereof so that the first and second chambers can be easily joined together by the zippers.

The foregoing objects and summary provide only a brief introduction to the present invention. To fully appreciate these and other objects of the present invention as well as the invention itself, all of which will become apparent to those skilled in the art, the following detailed description of the invention and the claims should be read in conjunction with the accompanying drawings. Throughout the specification and drawings identical reference numerals refer to identical or similar parts.

Many other advantages and features of the present invention will become manifest to those versed in the art upon making reference to the detailed description and the accompanying sheets of drawings in which a preferred structural embodiment incorporating the principles of the present invention is shown by way of illustrative example.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PRESENT INVENTION

For the purpose of promoting an understanding of the principles of the invention, reference will now be made to the embodiment illustrated in the drawings. Specific language will be used to describe same. It will, nevertheless, be understood that no limitation of the scope of the invention is thereby intended, alterations and further modifications in the illustrated device, and further applications of the principles of the invention as illustrated herein being contemplated as would normally occur to one skilled in the art to which the invention relates. With reference to the drawings and in particular to FIGS. 1, 2, [0021] 3 and 4, the luggage case according to the present invention generally comprises an L-shaped bag 1 which includes a first chamber 11, a second chamber 12 located under the first chamber 11, and a third chamber 14 located under the second chamber 12. The first chamber 11 may be folded on the second chamber 12 which in turn is located on the third chamber 14. The top of the first chamber 11 is provided with a hook 111 at the intermediate portion and a pair of female fasteners 112 at the two sides of the hook 111. The second chamber 12 has a pocket 121 in which is fitted a telescopic pull rod 13. The telescopic pull rod 13 can be pulled out of the pocket 121 to enable the luggage case to be moved in the desired direction via casters 142 mounted on the bottom of the third chamber 14. The first chamber 11 may be folded on the second chamber 12. The third chamber 14 is provided with a pair of male fasteners 141 engageable with the female fasteners 112 of the first chamber 11.
The present invention can be converted into a wardrobe simply by pulling the [0022] pull rod 13 to the uppermost position, disengaging the female fasteners 112 of the first chamber 11 from the male fasteners 141 of the third chamber 14, turning the first chamber 11 upwardly above the second chamber 12 so as to form an upright wardrobe, and then engaging the hook 111 with the handle 131 of the pull rod 13 thereby forming a wardrobe for storing clothes and the like.
Referring to FIGS. 5 and 6, the zipper can be easily pulled open to receive clothes and the like. The outer side of the [0023] first chamber 11 has a plurality of pockets 16, 17 and 18 for receiving neckties, socks, gloves and the like. The third chamber 14 is designed for receiving shoes and the like. Furthermore, the first and second chambers 11 and 12 are provided with two zippers 110 and 120 at two sides thereof so that the first and second chambers 11 and 12 can be easily joined together by the zippers 110 and 120 (see FIGS. 1-5).
Looking now at FIGS. 6 and 6A, clothes (not shown) can be first put on [0024] hangers 19 before the hangers 19 are suspended on racks 20 mounted on the inner top of the first chamber 11, so that clothes can be hung in the wardrobe without being folded. The hook 111 is connected with the first chamber 11 by an S-shaped member 114. When folding the first chamber 11 is required, it is necessary to disengage the hook 111 with the handle 131 of the pull rod 13 and then to engage hook 111 with a loop 115 mounted on the top of the first chamber 11.
Turning to FIG. 7, a [0025] laundry bag 22 may be suspended within the wardrobe by means of straps 21 so that dirty clothes may be put inside the wash bag 22, thereby making it easy to store dirty clothes without soiling any remaining clean clothing items in the wardrobe.
FIG. 8 illustrates how [0026] shoes 3 are put into the third chamber 14. As shown, the shoes 3 in the third chamber 14 will be separated from the clothes in the first and second chambers 11 and 12 thereby ensuring that the clothes will not become soiled from the shoes and that the shoes will retain their shape.
It will be understood that each of the elements described above, or two or more together may also find a useful application in other types of methods differing from the type described above. [0027]
While certain novel features of this invention have been shown and described and are pointed out in the annexed claim, it is not intended to be limited to the details above, since it will be understood that various omissions, modifications, substitutions and changes in the forms and details of the device illustrated and in its operation can be made by those skilled in the art without departing in any way from the spirit of the present invention. Claims

I claim:

1. A luggage capable of converting into a wardrobe comprising an L-shaped bag including a first chamber, a second chamber located under said first chamber, and a third chamber located under said second chamber, said first chamber being able to fold on said second chamber, a pull rod mounted on said second chamber and having a handle, said first chamber being provided with a hook engageable with said handle of said pull rod, whereby travelers may have a wardrobe at their destination to enable them to hang up their clothing items thereby preventing further wrinkling and giving the travelers easy access to their clothing and other personal belongings.

2. The luggage case capable of converting into a wardrobe as claimed in claim 1, wherein said first chamber has a top provided with a pair of female fasteners, said third chamber has a pair of male fasteners engageable with said female fasteners.

3. The luggage case capable of converting into a wardrobe as claimed in claim 1, wherein said pull rod is fitted within a pocket at a rear side of said second chamber.

4. The luggage case capable of converting into a wardrobe as claimed in claim 1, wherein said top of said first chamber is connected with a hook via a S-shaped member.

5. The luggage case capable of converting into a wardrobe as claimed in claim 1, wherein said first and second chambers are provided with a plurality of pockets.

6. The luggage case capable of converting into a wardrobe as claimed in claim 1, wherein said third chamber is used for receiving shoes.

7. The luggage case capable of converting into a wardrobe as claimed in claim 1, wherein said the first and second chambers are provided with two zippers at two sides thereof thus enabling said first and second chambers to be joined together by said zippers.
