Abstract

All over the world in economically advantaged and technology advanced countries, the electronic communications revolution is rising to greater and greater heights. What once was a mere uprising that affect only a small number of people at certain levels of these societies is now permeating every layer and touching the lives of millions of people. For an example of this impact, one need only look at the number of electronic devices in the average home in the United States. There one that might find two or more television sets, several radios, cassette tape players, a CD player or two, at least one video cassette recorder, telephones, and quite often, a personal computer connected to the World Wide Web.
M.E.C., or Multi-Media Entertainment Console, would be designed to incorporate several electronic devices into one multi-use mechanism. The M.E.C. would have ability of functioning with all of the capacity of a personal computer. As well, the M.E.C. would have the ability to play DVD's, CD's and video game software. At this time, there are on the consumer market, multi-media personal computers that allow the consumer to access some of these devices but the M.E.C. would be a giant step in the evolution of this type of equipment. The M.E.C. would be capable of reading, or recognizing, a larger range of data through a unique and innovative technology referred by me the inventor as an “open acceptance program”. This would allow decoding of data from various media and subsequent loading of that data so that full access to it would be permitted. The console unit through which this decoding and reading would occur would be designed with a user friendly control system and a pleasing physical appearance that would make it compatible with all types of de'cor.

Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • Computer technology and forms of entertainment are always changing at a rapid pace. For years now, major computer and entertainment companies have tried to make the lives of consumers better, by creating new experiences through technology. Technology that is always suppose to be the very best in it's field of efficiency, availability, quality, longevity, and economics. But yet to have actually do so in many different genres. [0001]
  • For example, in the video game world, the most powerful console is never what it's designed or introduced to be. As of recently it seems that every company brings out new hardware every two or three years. Consumers lose money by wasting it on over-hyped products that they think are long lasting pieces of equipment that will actually live up to it's expectations. Companies are mostly concerned with the intention to make money, and not the valued consumers that make them who they are. Another example of this problem is the conversion from VCR'S {video cassette recorders} to DVD {Digital Video Disk} Players. Lots of consumers made the switch but, may not have been necessary. Some of the films that were on VCR'S looked almost if not exact of the same visual quality and audio quality of DVD'S. The solution to resolving these types of problems is the very essence of M.E.C. {Multi-Media Entertainment Console}. M.E.C. provides capabilities that are user friendly to everyone. Giving consumers the chance to actually get their monies worth. M.E.C. combines multiple electronic capabilities in one mechanism. Watch a digital movie, play a video game or music cd, or type out a report. A fully operational computer, video game system, DVD player, and a music cd player all in one powerful compact machine that you will never have to replace or discard. [0002]
  • BRIEF SUMMARY OF INVENTION
  • M.E.C. is what every parent, or entertainment consumer has dreamed of. It alleviates clutter, and expenses of multiple electronic devices. M.E.C. is designed to recognize a wider variety of software for the consumers' sake. It's a fully operational computer, DVD player, music CD player, as well as a video game console. But what makes M.E.C. special, and even better than any other previous machine, is the “Open Acceptance Program”. This allows M.E.C. to use any competitors software as if it were originally created for the console. Making it the ideal choice for any consumer that spends hundreds of dollars on entertainment hardware or software. No more buying of multiple video game systems, no more tangled cords from multiple electronic devices, a fully operational computer, music CD player and a DVD player all in one. For economical reasons M.E.C. is clearly the best choice. [0003]

  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • M.E.C. (Multi-Media Entertainment Console), gets its name due to the exact capabilities it has. It offers consumers a better way to interact with multiple electronic devices by combining the concepts of saving money, fun and enjoyment, alleviating cluttered areas, and keeping the consumer in touch with a technologically advanced world that keep changing. M.E.C. Is very different from other machines. M.E.C. Is designed to last, unlike other machines before its time. The heart and soul of the machine is the, “Open Acceptance Program” and the convenience it gives the consumer. The “Open Acceptance Program” allows access to all types of CD software. This feature will let consumers use competitors software from their gaming consoles and computers CD-Roms. M.E.C. Is an improvement over other machines because you don't have to keep upgrading to new consoles. Due to this M.E.C. exceeds the limitations of other consoles. M.E.C. Is user friendly. [0017]
