Abstract
A new and improved apparatus is disclosed that will allow a user to place an Easter egg in an upright position and have the Easter egg stay in an upright position without any external means of support. The present invention would comprise an Easter egg and a weight that would be strategically placed within the Easter egg. The egg would comprise two halves, an upper half and a lower half. Both the upper half and the lower half of the egg of the present invention would have an inner surface and an outer surface.
The upper half would be the portion of the egg that would round out more gradually, while the lower half of the egg of the present invention would be the portion of the egg that would round out more quickly. The weight of the present invention would be located within the lower half of the present invention, and would be removably attached to the inner surface of the lower half of the present invention. Preferably, the weight would be located on the lowest possible point of the inner surface of the lower half of the present invention, which would ensure that the egg would stand upright when both the upper half and the lower half of the egg are attached to one another and a user attempts to stand the present invention up.
Description
- The present invention is that of a new and improved apparatus that will allow a user to place an Easter egg in an upright position and have the Easter egg stay in an upright position without any external means of support.
- U.S. Pat. No. 5,743,404, issued to Melashenko et al., discloses a container which has a hollow substrate with a coating covering at least a portion of the substrate.
- U.S. Pat. No. 5,332,605, issued to DeLamar, discloses a hollow decorative object which contains inside one or more novelty objects.
- U.S. Pat. No. 4,124,135, issued to Weder et al., discloses a hollow, plastic Easter egg constructed of two halves connected together by a plastic living hinge of unitary construction.
- The present invention is that of a new and improved apparatus that will allow a user to place an Easter egg in an upright position and have the Easter egg stay in an upright position without any external means of support. The present invention would comprise an Easter egg and a weight that would be strategically placed within the Easter egg. The egg would comprise two halves, an upper half and a lower half. Both the upper half and the lower half of the egg of the present invention would have an inner surface and an outer surface.
- The upper half would be the portion of the egg that would round out more gradually, while the lower half of the egg of the present invention would be the portion of the egg that would round out more quickly.
- There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of a support apparatus in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are, of course, additional features of the support apparatus that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
- In this respect, before explaining at least one embodiment of the support apparatus in detail, it is to be understood that the support apparatus is not limited in its application to the details of construction and to the arrangements of the components set forth in the following description or illustrated in the drawings. The support apparatus is capable of other embodiments and being practiced and carried out in various ways. Also, it is to be understood that the phraseology and terminology employed herein are for the purpose of descriptions and should not be regarded as limiting.
- As such, those skilled in the art will appreciate that the conception, upon which this disclosure is based, may readily be utilized as a basis for the designing of other structures, methods and systems for carrying out the several purposes of the present support apparatus. It is important, therefore, that the claims be regard as including such equivalent constructions insofar as they do not depart from the spirit and scope of the present invention.
- It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a support apparatus which has all of the advantages of the prior art and none of the disadvantages.
- It is another object of the present invention to provide a support apparatus which may be easily and efficiently manufactured and marketed.
- It is another object of the present invention to provide a support apparatus which is of durable and reliable construction.
- It is yet another object of the present invention to provide a support apparatus which is economically affordable and available to the buying public.
- It is yet another object of the present invention to provide a support apparatus which provides additional benefits not present in the prior art.
- Other objects, features and advantages of the present invention will become more readily apparent from the following detailed description of the preferred embodiment when considered with the attached drawings and appended claims.
- FIG. 1 shows a side view of the present invention.
- FIG. 1 shows a side view of the present invention. The present invention is that of a new and improved apparatus that will allow a user to place Easter
egg 2 in an upright position and have the Easteregg 2 stay in an upright position without any external means of support. The present invention would comprise Easteregg 2 and a weight 4 that would be strategically placed within the Easteregg 2.Egg 2 would comprise two halves, anupper half 6 and alower half 8. Both theupper half 6 and thelower half 8 ofegg 2 of the present invention would have an inner surface and an outer surface. - The
upper half 6 would be the portion of theegg 2 that would round out more gradually, while thelower half 8 of theegg 2 of the present invention would be the portion of theegg 2 that would round out more quickly. Weight 4 of the present invention would be located within thelower half 8 of the present invention, and would be removably attached to the inner surface of thelower half 8 of the present invention. Preferably, weight 4 would be located on the lowest possible point of the inner surface of thelower half 8 of the present invention, which would ensure thategg 2 would stand upright when both theupper half 6 and thelower half 8 of the egg are attached to one another and a user attempts to stand the present invention up. - The present invention would make a good addition to an Easter egg collection. Further, the present invention would assist a user in making a display because the eggs of the present invention would be able to stand upright by themselves and would not need external support or assistance. The present invention would only stand on edge, however, when there would be no contents within
egg 2 or if the contents ofegg 2 are not too heavy to affect the balance of theegg 2. - Weight 4 would preferably have a shape which would allow to weight 4 to “set” within the
lower half 8 ofegg 2 and not move around voluntarily. Therefore, weight 4 would need some sort of flat surface. The preferable shape of weight 4 is shown in FIG. 1, with weight 4 having the approximate shape of a cross-section of tube. When weight 4 would have this shape, it could be placed flat on its side, with an individual not worrying that the weight 4 would possibly roll and knock overegg 2 whenegg 2 would be in an upright position.
