Thus it will be seen that I have provided a card shuffling device that is relatively simple in construction, inexpensive of manufacture and very effective in performing the functions for which it is intended.

It will be understood that various changes in the size, form and construction of the different parts of the playing card shuffling device herein set forth may be made and substituted for those herein shown and described without departing from the spirit of my invention, the scope of which y is set forth in the appended claims.

I claim as my invention:

l. In a card shuifling device, a card-receiving magazine, a member mounted for rotation on the side of said magazine and adapted when rotated to move into or out of said magazine, and that portion of said rotatable member that enters the magazine having a longitudinally curved periph eral card-supporting surface. i

2. In a card shuffling device, a card-receiving magazine, a member mounted for rotation on the side of said magazine and adapted when rotated to move into or out of said magazine, that portion of said rotatable member that enters the magazine having a longitudinally curved peripheral card-supporting surface and automatically operating means connected to said rotary member for imparting rotary movement thereto, so as to withdraw said member from the magazine and release the supported cards.

3. In a card shuffling device, a card-receiving magazine, a member mounted for rotation on the side of said magazine and adapted when rotated to move into or out of said magazine, that portion of Said rotatable member that enters the magazine having a longitudinally curved peripheral cardsupporting surface, automatically operating means connected to said rotary member for imparting rotary movement thereto, so as to withdraw said member from the magazine and release the supported cards and means for regulating the speed of rotation imparted to said rotary member.

4. In a card shuffling device, a card-receiving magazine, a member mounted for rotation on the side of said magazine and adapted when rotated to move into or out of said magazine, that portion of said rotatable member that enters the magazine having a longitudinally curved card-supporting surface, automatically operating means connected to said rotary member for imparting rotary movement thereto, so as to withdraw said member from the magazine and release the supported cards and manually operable means for rotating said member so as to move the portion having the curved card-supporting surface thereof into the magazine.

5. In a card shuffling device, a card-receiving magazine, a member mounted 'for rotation on the side of said magazine and adapted when rotated to move into or out of said magazine, that portion of said rotatable member that enters the magazine having a longitudinally curved cardsupporting surface and longitudinally curved fingers projecting from the end of said curved peripheral card-supporting surface.

6. In a card shuffling device, a card-receiving magazine, a member mounted for rotation on the side 'of said magazine and adapted when rotated to move into or out o-f said magazine, that portion of said rotatable member that enters the magazine having a longitudinally curved cardsupporting surface, longitudinally curved fingers projecting from the end of said curved cardsupporting surface and upstanding ribs on the edges of said fingers.

7. In a card shuffling device, a magazine, a member mounted for rotation on the side of said magazine and adapted when rotated to move into or out of said magazine, that portion of said rotatable member that enters the magazine having a longitudinally curved card-supporting surface and means on the end of the curved cardsupporting surface for permitting separate cards from the supported pack to drop by gravity from different points in said pack until all of the supported cards have been released.

9. In a card shuiing device, the combination with means for holding a pack of cards, of rotary means mounted for rotation on the side of said card holding means and having a longitudinally curved slotted peripheral card supporting surface for permitting separate cards to drop by gravity from different points of the supported pack until all of the cards have been released from the card holding means, and automatically actuating means for timing the withdrawal movement of said rotary means.

l0. In a card shuffling device, a magazine for the reception of a pack of cards to be shuffled, a rotary member mounted for rotation on the side of said magazine so as to move into and out of said magazine and supporting the pack of cards when moved into said magazine, and that portion of the periphery of said rotary member that projects into the magazine being curved lengthwise and provided with a pair of ppositely inclined side edges.

l1. In a card shuiiiing device, a magazine, a curved rotary member mounted for rotation on the side of said magazine and adapted when rotated to move into and out of the lower portion of said magazine, said member having a curved circumferential surface which when moved into the magazine is adapted to support a pack of cards, that end of the member that enters the magazine being provided with edges that are inclined with respect to the arcuate line of travel of said member as it is withdrawn from said magazine, and automatically operating means for withdrawing said rotary member from said magazine.

l2. In a card shuffling device, a housing provided in its upper portion with a magazine adapted to receive a pack of cards and in its lower portion with a pocket, a rotary member mounted for operation on said housing andrhaving a curved card supporting surface that is adapted to move into and out of the lower portion of said magazine as said member is rotated, the curved end of said member that enters said magazine being provided with inclined side edges, means for moving said member into said magazine, and means for withdrawing said member from said magazine. Y

In a card shuing device, a magazine, a curved member mounted for rotation on the side of the magazine and adapted whenv rotated to move into and out of said magazine, which curved member is provided with a longitudinally curved peripheral surface adapted to support cards when moved into said magazine, and means on the curved peripheral surface of said member for dividing theV supported cards into a plurality of groups each comprising a plurality of cards and then permitting the cards to drop one at a time Afrom each group as said card supporting mem- 10 ber is rotated and Withdrawn from the magazine.
