'(Cl. 126-44) My present invention relates to oil burners and leveling means so that they will be retained in a horizontal position within the combustion chamber of the range or heater in which they are mounted.
The burners and the oil supply tank are mounted on a pivoted platform or support at opposite sides of the pivot and a turn buckle arrangement is provided for leveling the platform.
With the above and other objects in view as will hereinafter clearly appear, my invention comprehends a novel burner and supply tank support.
It further comprehends novel means for mounting and leveling the oil burners and their oil supply tank.
Other novel features of construction and advantage will hereinafter more clearly appear in the detailed description and the appended claims.
For the purpose of illustrating the invention, I have shown in the accompanying drawing a typical embodiment of it, which, in practice, will give satisfactory and reliable results. It is, however, to be understood that the various instrumentalities of which my invention consists can be variously arranged and organized and my invention is not limited to the exact arrangement and organization of these instrumentalities as herein set forth.

Figure 2 is a side elevation, showing in dotted outline the fire pot, and the relation of the burner with respect thereto.
Figure 3 is a top plan view of the oil burner.
Figure 4 is an enlarged sectional detail.

Figure 6 is an end elevation of a wall of the range to show the slots.

Referring to the drawing:
I designates a range or heater of any desired or conventional type. For purpose of illustration I have shown a portion of a coal range having a me pot or combustion chamber I, within the casing of which, the oil burners 2 are located. The rear wall 3 of the range is provided with openings 4, preferably conforming to the contour 50 in cross section of the levers 5, which, as shown, are of angle formation and are pivoted at 6 on the wall of their respective slots 4. A set screw 1 is in threaded engagement with the frame of the range and bears against one of the angles.
5 The oil burners 2 have their cups 8 fixed to the angles on one side of the pivot. 9 designates an oil supply inthe form of a tank having its cup secured to or resting on the angles exterior of the tank and preferably in the same plane as the plane of the oil burners 2. A pipe ll] controlled by valves ll connects the cup of the oil supply 5' tank 9 with the cups 8 of the oil burners by pipes l2 and H3.
The levers at the side which carries the oil burners are provided with novel means for leveling the oil burners. Sectional connections in the 10 form of rods id have their sections connected by turn buckles E5 in threaded engagement therewith. One section of a rod is secured to its respective lever, and the other section of a rod is fixed to a stationary portion of the range, and as 15 illustrated the bottom of the frame.
The oil flows by gravity from. the bottom cup of the oil burner tank to the bottom cups of the burners, and in order to prevent the oil overflowing the cups of the oil burners, the oil burner cups 20 are supported at the same height or in the same plane as the oil supply tank cup.
It will be apparent that by turning the turn buckles in the proper direction, the support formed by the levers can be brought into a hori- 25 zontal plane, so that all of the cups will be supported at the same height and in substantially a horizontal plane. The adjusted position of the levers can then be maintained by moving the set screw into engagement with its lever.
There is thus no chance for the oil cups of the oil burners to overflow and form a fire hazard.
The arrangement as illustrated can be economically manufactured and applied to any .desired type of range or heater having a combustion chamber.
Each burner has its independent valve sothat one or both burners may be operated, as may be desired.
The burners have aligning lugs l6 secured to the levers, and in a similar manner the cup for the tank has aligning lugs l'l' secured to the levers.
The detailed manner in which the pivoted support is leveled will now be apparent and is as follows:
The levers are passed through the slots in the range, and the burners may now or later be secured to them, and the oil supply tank may now. or later be placed on the levers and connected with the burners. The front lever 5 is first leveled by adjusting its turn buckle l5, and the set screw 1 is then tightened to fix the position of such lever withrespect to the range and prevent lateral or longitudinal movement of such lever. The
rear lever is then leveled by adjusting the two turn buckles provided for the rear lever. The burners are now in a level condition and will not overflow in case the controlling valve is not closed.
The. burners are fixed to each lever, as is also the oil supply tank so that the levers form a pivoted support prevented from lateral or longitudinal movement by the set screw 1.
If the range is moved to a new location with an uneven or inclined flow, the burners can be leveled in the manner set forth by unskilled labor.
It will now be apparent that I have devised a new and useful burner and supply tank support which embodies the features of advantage entimerated as desirable in the statement of the. in: vention and the above description, and while I have, in the present instance, shown and described a preferred embodiment thereof which will give in practice satisfactory and reliable results, it is to be understood that this embodiment is susceptible of modification in various particulars without departing from the spirit or scope of the invention or sacrificing any of its advantages.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:-
1. In a support for a burner and fuel supply, spaced levers pivotally supported, a fuel supply on said levers at one side of their pivots, an oil burner supported on said levers at the opposite side of the pivots and in communication with said supply, two longitudinally adjustable connections connected with one lever on the burner carrying side and to fixed points, and a longitudinal adjustable connection connected with the other lever and a fixed point.
2. In a support for a burner and its fuel supply, spaced levers pivotally supported, a fuel supply carried by the levers at one side of their pivots, a burner on the levers at the opposite side of the pivots, two longitudinally adjustable connections for levelling one of said levers, and a longitudinally adjustable connection for levelling the other lever.
3. In a support for a burner and its supply tank, a casing having a compartment and slots in one of its walls angular in cross section, levers extending through said slots to pivot on the walls thereof, a fuel supply on the levers exterior of the compartment, a burner within the compartment, supported on the levers, and in communication with the supply tank, spaced longitudinally adjustable connections tolevel one of the levers, a spaced longitudinal connection to level the other lever, and means to fix the lever with the two levelling connections in its adjusted position.
