2 Claims.
The purpose of my invention is to provide a means of adopting my metal hollow building block to be used in courses by interlocking and secured means and at the same time being rigid- 5 ly secured to form a wall.
A further purpose of my invention is to provide a hollow block with vents which have an Outward series of projections which act as a keyway for the outer coating of ywhateversuitable substance may be desired.
My invention, by interlocking means as .described and shown in the drawings, forms a solid Wall of any dimensions in length and width which may be necessary.
A further purpose of my invention is to provide a means whereby air may circulate within the wall and make same adaptable for heating or cooling purposes as climatic conditions may demand and at the same time form a means of providing ventilation Within the walls by reason of the factthat there is no lling within or between the hollow blocks when placed in their course either vertically or perpendicularly.
There is a. further advantage in the use of my metal hollow building block in that there is a considerable saving in the cost of labor and material in the building of a wall.
The locking means used in my invention provides four rigid` walls which will be adaptable for the retention of a suitable roof and thev placement of necessary openings within the walls.
I attain these objects by the mechanism illustrated in the drawings which form a part of this specification, in which g j Figure 1 shows a front View showing the locking means.
Figure 2 shows a top view. Figure 3 shows a bottom view. Figure 4 shows a cross-section on Figure 5 shows a left end View.
Figure 6 shows a cross sectional view with locking device in suitable position and hollow blocks -in position with suitable covering.

Referring more specifically to the drawings, numeral I indicates the outer wall` of the block; 2 indicates the screw hook of the locking means; 3

indicates wing-nut of locking means; 4 is the supporting cross-bar; 5 indicates angle-iron which acts as a support for the entire locking device; 6 and 'I are the swinging hooked brackets which lock together the block in the lower course.
It may be noted that half blocks are used to finish a course and the locking means be turned to retain block at front and back instead of fromr side to side as shown because of swivel means used and indicated in Figure 6.
It should also be noted that it may be found suitable to create an opening I8 as shown in Figure 7, to be used with inwardly projecting ilange instead of angle-iron 5 shown in Figure 6.
It may be necessary to make some slight changes without departing from the broad scope of my invention.
I claim: v
1. A hollow metal building member, having side walls and end walls, allof which have outwardly struck up bonding members and inturned flanges on side walls each having a deformed portion, a flanged re-enforcing member extending transversely at the center of the block and attached to said side walls and attaching means suspended therefrom for rigidly tying theoblock to the next lower one in a wall.
2. A wall consisting of members such as described in claim 1, in which the attaching means' comprise an adjustable hook member supporting an inverted V shaped member having end portions which engage and hold the deformed portions of the upper ilange of the lower unit.
