- My invention'relates to bracket-supports, and, more particularly to vertically adjustable means for supporting the brackets which carry lace curtains, drapery and Valance supporting rods, or bars, which fixtures are well known in the art to which they appertain'. Q j The objectof my invention is the provision of a pair of like device's adapted .to be secured to opposite sides of a window frame for'adjustably supporting brackets which carry curtain, drapery and valance supporting rods, or bars, so that the lace curtains, draperies and valances hung from the cross-rods, or bars supported by the brackets can be easily lowered with the brackets for re- 'moval from their respective rods, or bars, and all raised after having been secured to the rods, or' bars in the usual well known manner, thus obviating the necessity of a housewife, or maid having to stand upon a ladder to take down, or to hang the curtains, draperies and valances.

A further object of theinvention resides in the provision of telescopic means one member of which is fixed at opposite ends to a window frame and the other member being slidable, and adapted to carry the curtain rod, drapery rod and'valance rod supporting brackets usually connected as a unit, and the provision of means for locking said slidable member in its uppermost position; and readily unlocking the slidable member so-that it can be lowered relative to the other member;

' A still further object of the invention is the provision of a vertically adjustable. bracket and curtain rod support which possesses'advantages inpoints of simplicity and efficiency, and; at the same time proves itself comparativelyinexpensive in cost of -manufacture.

With the above and other objects in view, the

A-curtain fixture support; of the class de-- scribed comprising, in combination a, tubular member lying in full length contact with the front face of a window casing and having a longitudinal slotted opening in the wall thereof adapted to be, secured to a window casing at its upper end, acylindrical rod slidably mounted in the tubular member, a curtain rod supporting bracket secured to the frontface' of the upper end of said ro'd, a clamp plate spanning the lower end of said tubular member and secured to the window casing, a hook on said'clamp'plate and a ring pivoted to the lower end of said rod for connection with said hook to hold the rod in its uppermost. position permitting lowering .of
