My invention relates to a razor strop.

In making razor strops of leather, the hair side is the one used for stropping. However, it is diiicult to secure a perfect edge on a krazor 5 when using such a strop'for the reason that the structure of the hair side of the leather has a certain inclination somewhat analagous to the pile of a carpet,y so that it offers more friction when the razor is stropped in one direction than in the other.

to provide a leather strop so constructed that it offers an equal amount of friction in either direction. For this purpose I assemble strips of leather turned on edge so that thefhair side is disposed between the faces of the strop, and

fasten them together by suitable means.

With the above and other objects in viewwhich will appear as the description proceeds,v my invention'consists in the construction and arrangement of parts hereinafter shown'and described. Referring to the drawing, 1 indicates the body of the strop, havingconventionaly holding means 2 and a hand grip 3. The body 1 is y*composed of a series of strips of leather 4 preferably of the same size as shown in Figs. 2, 3 and 4. The hair side of the strips is indicated at 4', which It is an object of this invention thoughv I prefer to sew them together, using a 'flexible wire 5 preferably of brass which forms stitches as indicated at 6. Along the edges of the strop the wire 5 passes transversely through the strips 4 asclearly shown in Fig. 2.

1. A razor strop comprising a plurality of leather strips ofuniform size and shape assem-v bled face to face to form smooth upper and lower strop faces with the hair side of the strips disposed betweenthe facesA of the strop, and

means for holding said-strips together. l
