C. F.A MOSER METAL MINING Filed Oct. 51, 1952 G44 r/es /oser INVENTOR. A ORNEY ,all 7 Patented Oct. 17, 1933 UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE 2Claims.
This invention relates to metal awiiings.
The principal object is to provide an awning of metal that may be attached to the outside of a ,building to protect a window or a door.
A further object is to provide an awning constructed o f metal wherein the parts may be assembled, if desired, at the time the same is being attached to the building.
A still furtherobject is to provide novel means for securing the awning to the building and securing together the parts of the awning.
With the foregoing and other objects in view which will appear as the description proceeds, the invention resides in the -combination and ar# rangement of parts and in the .details of construction hereinafter described and claimed, it being understood that changes in the precise embodiment of the invention herein disclosed, can be made within the scope of what is claimed, without departing from the spirit of the invention.
The invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawing, whereinz- Figure 1 is a perspective view of the awning l' with a part broken away.
Figure 2 is a perspective view ofthe awning,
heldinpositiononthewall'bymeanscrrscrews8. Theawninstoplisprovidedwlthside aprons 9 and an end apron 10. This apron 10 is formed of a downturned portion of the awnins 150D 1- ByreferringtoFigurelitwillbeseenthat these side aprons 9 are formed with an inturned edge 11 in order that the same may be secured to the wall L By referring to Figure 3 it will be seen that the edges 12 are formed withan inturned hook portion 13 into which functions anoutturned hook 14 formed from an upper edge of the apron 9. l
By referring to Figures 1 and 4 it will be seen that the corners formed by the meeting of ends of the apron 10 with the aprons 9 are held in a secured relation to each other by means of inturned and partly closed loops 15 into which 65 functions a clip 16 provided with oppositely disposed inturned hooks.
By referring to Figures 2 and 6 it be seen that the aprons 9 and 10 are provided at lower edges with a box shaped ange 17 which is an integral part of the aprons 9 and 10. It lwill also be seen' that the corner members 18 are held in position by means of a clip 19 functioning on an inturned ange 20 formed on the box shaped ange 17.
Having thus described my. invention, what I claim is:- V Y 1. In a metal awning formed of parts designed and constructed ,of interlocking parts so as to be easily and rapidly assembled and taken apart, detachable side aprons for said awning, an end apron for said awning', a box shaped iilangeV formedr om bottom edges of said end and side aprons, corner members forming joining means for said box shaped 2. In a metal `awning formed of parts designed and constructed of interlocking parts so as to be easily and rapidly assembled and taken apart, detachable side aprons for said awning, an end apron for said awning, a box shaped iiange Vformed on bottom edges of said end and side aprons, corner members forming joining means for said box shaped flanges, an inturned flange formed on said box shaped ange, a clip formed on said corner members and functioning with Y said inturned flange for the purpose of holding said corner members in position.
