Filed April 21, 1952 2 Sheets-Sheet 2 lfiatented Mar. 7, 1933 UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE LAWRENCE B. WILSON, F TUCSON, ARIZONA TWO PA T COUCH,
Application filed April 21,
features of construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts to be hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawings and specifically pointed out in the appended claim.
In describing the invention in detail, reference will be had to the accompanying drawings wherein like characters denote like or corresponding parts throughout the several views, and in which Figure 1 is a perspective view of one of the parts.
Fig. 2'is a top plan view showing the parts so placed together as to form a rectangular face.
Fig. 3 is a top plan view showing the two parts arranged to form a channel shaped couch.
Fig. 4 is a view showing the two parts separated with the table placed between them.
Fig. 5 is a plan View showing howone part can be placed in the corner of aroom.
As shown in these views, the couch is formed of two L-shaped parts A and B with the long limbs of the two parts of the same length and the widths of said long limbs being equal to the lengths of the adjacent short limbs. Thus a limb of one part will fit in the 40 space formed by the other part to provide a couch of rectangular shape as shown in Fig.
2. Or as shown in Fig. 3, two similar limbs of the two parts can be placed in end to end relation to form a couch of channel shape in plan view so that the couch can be placed I adjacent a fire place.
Fig. 4 shows the two parts separated with a table C placed between them so that four persons can sit around the table on the two parts of the couch with a person at each side scope of the appended claim.

of the table. This is desirable when playing cards or the like.
Fig. 5 shows one of the parts of the couch placed in a corner of a room. W As shown, each part consists of a body part 1 supported on the short legs 2 and having a cushion ,3 resting on the top of the body part, this cushion being of course of the same shape as the body part. d
When the par-ts are arranged as shown in Fig. 2, the couch can be used as a bed. This" inventionprovides an economical way to furnish either a living room or a den with one piece of moderately priced furniture which can be assembled in varlous ways as shown in r the drawlngs, can suit the convenience of the owner,and can be a useful article both at night and during the day;
' It is thought from the foregoing description that the advantages and novel features of the invention will be readily apparent. I
7 It is to be understood that changes may be made in the construction and in the combina tion and arrangement of the several parts provided that such changes fall within the Havingthus described my invention, what I claim as new is i A couch of the class described comprising a pair of separate interfitting sections, each of L-shape in a horizontal plane, the lengths of certain corresponding limbs of each section being the same and their widths being the same as the lengths of the adjacent other limbs.
Intestimony whereof I alfix my signature.
LAWRENCE B. WILSON.
