Each crank 23, through the toggle connections above described, is connected to two corners of the blank holder 11 at one side thereof, and each crank 37 through the connection 38 is connected to one of the four corners of the plunger 12. Thus, there are in all four connections to the blank holder and four connections to the plunger and the forces'are symmetrically distributed.
We wish it understood that our invention is not limited to any specific construction, arrangement or form of the parts, as it is capable of numerous modifications and changes without departing from the spirit of the claims.
What we claim is:
1. In a power press, the combination of a frame including a base, side pieces and an upper casting secured rigidly in assembled relation, 21.

In a power press, a pair of parallel crankshafts driven in unison in opposite directions, a plunger, cranks on each of the crankshafts c0nnected to two points of the plunger, asecond crank on each of said crankshafts disposed between the cranks connected to the plunger, 2. blank holder, a pair of toggle shafts. connected to said blank holder, and separate means including a toggle and lever mechanism to operate each, of said toggle shafts from the second crank more closely adjacent thereto.
4. In a power press, a pair'of crankshafts' driven in unison in opposite directions, each crankshaft having three cranks, a plunger, pitmans connecting four points on said plunger to two. cranks on each crankshaft, a blank holder, a pair of toggle shafts parallel tosaid crankshafts one on each side of the press, toggle joints, connecting said blank holder and each of said toggle shafts, and separate means to operate each of' said toggle shafts from the crankshaft on the same side of the press, said means including a plurality of toggles.
5. In a power press, a frame, a plunger and a blank holder each mounted for reciprocating movements in said frame, two parallel crankshafts driven in unison and in opposite directions, one at each side of the vertical center line of the frame, connections between each crankshaft and said plunger whereby to reciprocate the latter from rotation of the shafts, and separate operating connections between each crankshaft and the adjacent side of the blank holder whereby to impart predetermined reciprocatory movements to said blank holder, said means including at least two to gle sets.
6. In a power press, a frame, a plunger and a blank holder each mounted for reciprocating movements in said frame, two parallel crankshafts driven in unison and in opposite directions, connections between each crankshaft and said plunger whereby to reciprocate the latter from rotation of the shafts, and independent operating connections between each crankshaft and the portion ofthe blank holder on the same side of the press as the crankshaft, each of said latter connections comprising a toggle joint and a member pivoted in the frame on a common shaft.

Inca power press, a frame, a member removably mounted in said frame forming a well, a plunger and a blank holder mounted for reciprocating movements in said frame,'two parallel crankshafts, connections between each of said crankshafts and said plunger, a pair of toggle shafts parallel to said crankshafts, one on each side of the. press, connections between said toggle shafts and said blank holder, and independent means, to drive the respective toggle shafts from the crankshaft adjacent thereto, each of said means including a link and a bell crank lever, both of said bell crank levers being pivoted on a common shaft in said well member.
