GAME TALLY HOLDER Filed Feb. 23, 1934 2 Sheets-Sheet 2 jllll n" "'llImTF I 3 Inventor Patented Sept. 25, 1934 UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE The present invention relates to a game tally holder for use in card tables where game scores are necessary and the object of the invention is to provide a device of this nature whereby any and all players at a glance can see the score all the time. It does away with the necessity of looking for score pad when about to start play as it is always attached to the table. It does away with the removal of the score pad from the 1H) table to make room for playing. It does away topof the table and in no way interferes with the playing of the cards.

Another very important object of the invention is to provide a device of this nature which is simple in its construction, easy to manipulate, inexpensive to manufacture, thoroughly efiicient and reliable in use and otherwise well ada ted to the purpose for which it is designed.

With the above and numerous other objects in view as will appear as the description proceeds, the invention consists in certain novel features of construction, and in the combination and arrangement of parts as will hereinafter be more fully described and claimed.

Referring to the drawings in detail it will be seen that the card table is provided with a rectangular opening 5 in which this device is mounted so that the upper edge of the device is flush with the'top of the table. The device consists of a rectangular box like frame including a pair of side walls 6 and 6, and end wall 7 and another end wall 8. On the lower edges of the side walls 6 there are provided outwardly directed flanges 9. On the upper edges of the side walls 6, 6 and the end wall 7 are inwardly directed flanges 10, 10 and 11. The flanges 11 terminate a distance from the end wall 8. A strip 12 extends between the ends of the flanges 10 adjacent the end wall 8.

A block 14 is mounted in the frame abutting the end wall 8 and the upper side thereof is beveled to incline upwardly away from the strip 12 and adjacent the wall 8 the beveled face 15 is more pronouncedly beveled as indicated at 16. Numeral 17 denotes a follower plate on which are mounted a plurality of tally sheets 18. A bowed spring 19 has its central portion fixed to the central portion of the follower plate 12. A bottom 20 has flanges 21 on its longitudinal edges slidably cooperable with flanges 9. When the bottom 20 is removed the follower 17 may be removed and tally sheets placed thereon. Then the tally sheets and follower plate are placed in the frame and then the bottom is slid into place.

When the tally sheet has been used it may be out a more detailed description thereof.

The present embodiment of the invention has been described in considerable detail merely for the purposes of exemplification since in actual practice it attains the features of advantage enumerated as desirable in the statement of the invention and the above description.

It will be apparent that changes in the details of construction, and in the combination and arrangement of parts may be resorted to without departing from-the spirit or scope of the invention as hereinafter claimed or sacrificing any of its advantages.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new is:

In combination with a table having an opening in its top passing vertically through said top, a frame fitting in the opening with its lower portion projecting below the lower face of the table, an inwardly extending flange on the upper edges of one end member and the two side members of the frame, said flange having those parts on the side members terminating an appreciable distance from the other end member of the frame, a cross piece extending across the frame and connected with the terminals of those portions of the flange which are carried by the side members of the frame, the flange being flush with the top of the table top', a bottom member slidably connected with the lower part of the frame for covering the bottom thereof, a block fitting in that part of the frame between the cross piece and the adjacent be passed between the cross piece and the bloclg,

the projection causing the sheet to pass upwardly above the table top, a follower in the frame tor supporting sheets thereon, and a spring connected to the under face of the follower and engaging the bottom piece for pressing the sheets on the iollower against the flange and the cross piece.
