My invention relates to a rectal bath and I declare the following to be a full, clear, concise and exact description thereof suflicient to enable anyone skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings in which like reference characters refer to like parts throughout.

The object of theinvention is to provide a toilet that will eliminate the use of toilet paper and substitute a more sanitary and less harmful method. It is a well known fact that the wood fibres in the tissue paper irritate the body and tend also to drive the poisonsinto the pores of the body.

Referring more particularly to the drawings, the toilet embodies a bowl 1 that has its upper surface or rimformed on an angle ofabout twenty-five degrees, whereby the front portion of the bowl is higher than the rear portion. Furthermore, this slight incline will cause the person to sit in the most advantageous position to receive the full benefit of the rectal bath as hereinafter described.

The upper edge of bowl 1 has hinged thereto at 5 a soft spongy rubber seat 5 which not only lends comfort to the user but also elfectsa sealed joint between the body of the user and the seat,

. whereby to prevent any of the water from the spray getting outside bowl 1 which would be objectionable.

Bowl 1 has an outlet at 6 and trap portion at 7. An external or base rim is formed at 8 for attaching bowl 1 on the floor not shown. Bowl 1 has operated by an electric high speed motor 17 held.

To this end the upper end of channel 15 is formed on an angle, whereby to direct the hot air towards the parts of the body that have previously received the warm water spray or bath.

An electric heater 25 to which pipe 11 is connected is employed to warm the water passing through said pipe 11 for the douche. A water G5 pipe 26 leading to a course of water supply is connected to the lower end of heater 25. The passage of water. under pressure through pipe 26 is controlled by an electric fsolenoid operated valve 30, whereby the spray at nozzle 12 can be controlled by an electric circuit through wall push button 31 hereinafter described.

. A drip pipe 32 is united to warm water pipe 11, whereby to carry off any water left said pipe after the douche. will enable pipe 11 to deliver warm water for the next douche. The means for flushing bowl 1 embodies a fresh water inlet pipe 40 connected at 42 to bowl 1, whereby'to allow the fresh water to enter bowl 1, pass therethrough'and make its exit through outlet 6 carrying the refuse therewith. The passage of water through pipe 40 is controlled by an electric solenoid operated valve --A similar to valve 30 hereinabove referred to.

The electric circuits for. controlling valves 30, 30-'-A, the one in flushing'pipe and the other in water pipe 26 connected to heater 25 as well as fan 16, electric warmer 20 and heater 25 connected with warm water pipe 11 in asynchronous manner is done by pushing wall button 31. This will close the following electric circuits; the oilcuit to master switch 4'7 through wires 45, 45.

.Master switch 47 is connected by electric wires 48, 49 with valve 30--A controlling flushing pipe 40 'and by wires 50, 51', 52 with valve 30 controlling supplying water for the douche. Furthermore, wires 51, 52 connect master switch 47 with the electric warmer 20 and with motor-1'7 which is enclosed so as to be water-proof. This directly connected to the blades of the fan 16.

The means for controlling master switch 47 embodies a pole murcoid switch 60 enclosed in spring operated seat hinge 61. Switch 60 is connected by electric wires 62, 63 with master switch 47. when seat 5 is' down upon the upper 'edge'f of bowl 1, pilot switch closes master switch 4 In operating the device, the person using th toilet will automatically close pole switch when sitting onseat 5. After defication the per- V son will push wall button 31 which in turn closes master switch 47. Master switch 47 will thereupon open the electric solenoid operated valve 30A to allow for passage of water through pipe 40 for flushing bowl 1. Thereafter master switch 4'7 closes the electric circuit through wires 50, 51 to heater 25, whereby to heat the water to a predetermined degree for the douche. Simultaneously with the electric circuit to heater 25, the master switch also closes the electric circuit, whereby to open the douche valve 30 for a predetermined time. After the electricity is shut 011 of valve 30 and 30-A controlling the flush and douche, master switch 47 then closes the electric circuit through wires 51, 52 to the air warmer 20 and fan motor 17, whereby to effeet a drying process of the person. This latter circuit is not shut off until the person rises from seat 5. The person may therefore continue to use the drying process as long as he wishes. A second cycle of operations above numerated may be repeated by again pushing wall button 31.

The toilet may be used without the douche or drying process by throwing seat 5 back in dotted line position shown in Figure 1. In this position switch 60 will make a second contact at 65 which shuts 011 the other electric circuits controlling said douche and heater. By now pushing wall switch 31 the electric solenoid operated flush valve 30-A above will be opened to allow for passage of water through pipe 40 to flush bowl 1.

The spray for the douche is projected from the front side of the device whereby to eliminate the danger of the water from wetting the 1. In a rectal bath, a bowl having means for throwing a spray of water, other means in said bowl for forcing a draft of warm air, and means for timing said spray and draft at predetermined intervals.

2. In a rectal bath, a bowl having means for flushing the same, a channel formed in said bowl for effecting a douche in the channel formed in said bowl for effecting a draft of air, and electrical means for controlling said douche and warm air at predetermined intervals.

3. In a rectal bath, a bowl having means for flushing the same, a pipe projected into said bowl for effecting a douche, a warm air passage formed in said bowl for effecting a drying process, a heater connected with said pipe, a fan located in said channel and electrical means for controlling said heater and fan, whereby to effect said douche and drying process at predetermined intervals.

4. In a rectal bath, a bowl having means for flushing the same, a cushioned seat-on saidbowl. a pipe mounted in said bowl for effecting a douche, a channel formed in said bowl for eifecting a drying process and a switch controlled by said seat, whereby to effect the operation of the douche and drying process.
