IMPROVEMENT IN AUTOMATIC FIRE-,EXTINGUISHING APPARATUS.

Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 194,012, dated August 7, 1877 application filed June 22, 1877.

To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, ARMIN' TENNER, of Cincinnati, Hamilton county, Ohio, have invented a new and useful Automatic Fire-Extinguishing Apparatus, of which the following is a specification:

. My invention is designed as an adjunct to those fire-extinguishing devices which consist of a box or case containing a compound,

which, under the action of heat, evolves gases or vapors that suppress the conflagration;

A may represent shelves or brackets, supporting cases B, containing Reecs or other fire-extinguishing compound.

Instead of the customary short fuse of each case, there is attached a long fuse, C, which, being rove through suitable eyelets D, projectin g from the walls or ceiling, has its outer extremity fastened to some fixed object, or it may be attached at both ends to a box of the compound, as shown in the drawing.

Having thus described my invention, the following is what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent:

The combination of the boxes B,hcontaining dry and solid chemicals, and havingsuitable supports A and long fuses C, forming a circuit connecting said boxes, as and for the purposes set forth. 7
