Description

Oct. 13, 1931. .M. GOLDENBERG ANTI SLIP SHOE Filed Aug. 16, 1929 INVENTOR MICHAEL GOLDENBERG vBY ATTORNEY Patented Oct. 13,'*19731 UNITED-STATES AutismeVV siionj f f' f l v Application led August 16, 1929. Serial No. 386,369. y.
rlhis invention relates toanti-slip,devic es for shoes and more particularly to anti-slip devices for athletic shoes andhas foritsgeneral object the provision of an anti-slip device which will not accumulate dirt', mud, etc., lherein genericallycalled foreign substance.
There are many well known anti-slip de'- vices lused at the present day onl athletic shoes.v
The type used depends on the sport. In baseball the Well known spike shoe is-in general' It has beeni'ound that dirt, mud, etc. ac-
cumulates and cakes in this cut out portion. This has been .found to be highly objectionable since among other vthings -it adds addi-1 tional weight thus vserving/rato slow up the ath- 5 letes. It is `the applicantsjparticular pur- 0 vide an anti-slip device'for an athletic shoe pose to provide a structure-which will be free from the above mentioned objectionable fean tures. y f. 4 More particularly stated, one of the objects of my invention is to provide an antislip athletic shoe wherein .the space in the` anti-slip device available for the accumulation of mud 1s reduced to a minimum.
yAnother object of this invention is to pro-v" vide an anti-slip athletic shoe of the spike type with a plate whereby the space in the anti-slip device available -for the accumulation of mud is reduced to a minimum.
Another object of this invention is tol pro'- wherein the space available for the accumulation of mud andl extraneous matter is reduced to a minimum. v
Another object of this'invention is to pro- 5 vide an anti-slip device of the spike type for an athletic shoe wherein the space previously available for the accumulation of mud and other foreignA substances is eliminated.
These and other objects will become evident from the following detailed description i MIQHAEL GOLDENB'ERG, or rniminnnrnimjrnnnsnvaiia" i' lightening the f y p in whichris bounole'ady by the armsllO of the base plate 5. should be understood from the above dis-f' closuref- The appended claims.v should therefore Ibe construed as broadlyas possible in Ik view'of the prior art.
The vterm closing used in the speci- 100 ication and claims is used to denote means which overlie the aperture but do not fill thek same, thus efectually preventing any material from being inserted into they chamber 5` formed by the said closing member and the other walls of the said aperture while at the same time permitting the existence of such a chambers.f
Having described my invention what I claim as new and useful is:
1. The combination of ashoe, anti-slipping means having an opening formed therein carried by the said shoe, and means for closing'` the said opening in the said anti-slipping means whereby the accumulation of; foreign substances in the said opening in the said anti-slipping means is obviated.
A2.1' rliecombination ofV a shoe, a plurality of'anti-slipping. means each havingy an opening therein carried by the said shoe, and a metalplateassociated with each said1 antislipping means for closing the said openings inthe said'lanti-slipping `means whereby thev accumulation of foreign substances in' the saidopenings in' thesaidanti-slipping,means isfobviated.
