Fig. 3 is a perspective view of the spout portion of the can prior to Lassembling orr mounting in the can. K. n
Fig. l is a fragmentary vertical sectional view `Correspendingto that of Fig. 2 of a slightly modified construction. Y
Referring to ther drawings, 1 represents a receptacle which is in practice design-ed to 30 hold given definite quantity of lubricant, usually a quart. This receptacle is provided With a threaded neck 2. A cap commonly a stamping is provided With, a threaded portion l at its lower end engaging the neck and vhas a shoulder 5y above the threaded portion providing a gaskety seat.
The cap has a central opening in the top thereof provided with Van inturn-edy seam fiange 6. The spout 7 is provided With an out-turned seam flange 8 Which is interlocked with the seam flange 6. In practice the seam flanges are'turned on th-e edges of the cap opening and the lovver edge of the spout, the spout inserted, and the parts forced together, interlocking th-e seam flanges.
The upper end of the spout is folded downwardly upon itself at 9 providing a reinforce for the nose of the spout and also providing a smooth edge for the spout. This permits the spout being formed. of veryflight'materal.

The same is, however, desirable for use in various other relations.
Having thus described my invention what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
l. A dispensing can comprisingr a receptacle, a cap therefo-r provided with a downwardly facing gasket seat and having aspout opening provided with an inturnedv seam flange and a vent located between said gasket seat and spout opening, a gasket arranged on said gasket seat to coact with the end of the neck, and a tapered spout having an upturned seam flange at its lower end interlocking with said inturned seam flange of said cap, said spout having a tonguelike baffle depending from its lower end disposed between said gasket seat and gasket.
y 2. A dispensing can comprising a receptacle, a cap therefor having a spout opening provided with an inturned seam flange and a vent, and a tapered spout having an upturned seam flange at its lower end inter- .locking with said inturned seam flange of .said cap, said spout having a tongue-like baille depending from its lower end in opposed relation to said vent. 3. A dispensing can comprising a receptacle, a Cap therefor provided with a downwardly facing gasket seat and having a spout yopening therein and a vent located between said gasket seat and spout opening, a gasket arranged on said gasket seat to coact with the end of the neck, and a spout secured in said spout opening and having a tongue-like baille depending from its lower end in opposed relation to said vent and with its lower end disposed between said gasket sea-t and gasket.
4. A dispensing can comprising a receptacle, a cap therefor having a spout opening therein and a vent, and a spout secured in into the cap, said cap being provided with a vent opening in alignment with said baille.
7. A dispensing can comprising a receptacle, a cap therefor provided with a vent opening and with a spout, and a narrow tongue-like baffle member depending from said spout in alignment with said vent o-pening.
8. A dispensing can comprising a receptacle, a cap therefor provided with a spout, said spout having a narrow integral tonguelike baffle, and a vent opening in the cap disposed in alignment with said baffle.
9. A dispensing can comprising a receptacle, and a cap therefor provided with a spout having an integral tongue-like baille formed as an eXtensio-n of its lower end, there being a vent opening opposite said baffle.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand.
BERT O. RHODES.
said spout opening and having a tongue-like baffle on its lower end disposed in opposed relation to said vent, the upper end of the spout bein-g folded downwardly upon itself to reinforce the nose of the spout and provide a smooth edge therefor.
5. A dispensing can comprising a receptacle, a cap having a spout opening therein provided with an inturned seam flange, and a spout having an out-turned seam flange at its lower end interlocking the said inturned seam flange of said cap, said spout having an integral tongue-like baille member on its lower'end, there being a vent opening in alignment with said baille member.
6. A dispensing can comprising a receptacle, a cap having an opening in the top thereof, and a spout secured in the said opening and provided with an integral outwardly inclined narrow tongue-like baflle` depending
