Accordingly, the principal object of thisinvention is to provide a lifting grab whichl is mechanically operable to engage or'release the load, and manually controlled by an'foperator standing on the ground. 'I

In the drawings there is shown a lifting rab adapted to be applied to rectangular objects such as containers or stacks Vof bricks.
