This inventionrelates to glare preventers for vehicles and has for an object to provide a plate of any sub-transparent glare reducing material with improved meansY for mounting the'same relative to the vehicle structure.

To provide for holding the plate 21 and its frame 22 at such manual adjustment, the end margin at one or b oth ends of the frame 22 are provided with indentations 25 with a stop 26 here shown as of the ball type, spring pressed, but the spring 27 normally holds the plate and frame against accidental movement, while yielding to manual stress.
The spring and ball are preferably contained in an offset 28 and in the drawings this offset, shown at both ends of the drawings, indicates the use of the stop at both ends of the plate, it being understood, however, that this will not limit the invention and that either or both ends may be employed, as found necessary.
When out of operation the plate occupies a position shown in broken lines in Figure 1, that is to say, swung' up into proximity to the top of the vehicle, and is held in such position by the spring pressed rosetter When the device is to be used, it is simply manually oscillated upon the pintles 12 to vertical or substantially vertical position,
and the plate of glare` reducing material is t adjusted to the proper height required by the driver by simply sliding the plate up or down in the channeled frame 10. l YThe invention is hereby claimed as folows:
1. VA glare preventer comprising a frame of channel material open at one side, a second frame of channel material enclosing a subtransparent sheet, said second frame mounted to slide wholly within and partly without the'irst frame, said rst frame havinga cut out in one margin forming limiting stops, and a lug carried by the second frame cooperatively engaging said stops.
2. A glare preventer comprising ra frame of channel material open at one side, means pivoting said :trame to swing, a second frame of channel material enclosing a ,subtransparent sheet, said second frame mounted to slide wholly within and partly without the Erst frame, said rst frame having a cut out in one margin forming limiting stops, and a lug carried by the second fra-me cooperatively engaging said stops.
