FEEDING-RACK SUPPORT.

This invention relates to racks prin'iarily adapted to support feeding trays and applicable upon enclosures, cages and the like from which position the feeding trays may be easily removed and replaced from the outside.

Referring to the drawings in detail, wherein like characters of reference denote corresponding 1. the reference character 10 indicates an elongated plate having lengths of wire 11 passing through openings therein to secure the latter upon a fence or side of an inclosure or cage, not shown. Said plate is provided with an elongated cutout portion 13 formed by spaced parallel flange portions 14.- struck therefrom. A U-ehaped band 15 provides outwardly and oppositely disposed ends of portions 16 secured to the inner side of the plate 10 and between the flange 1nen1- hers 1 1. Said band provides an upwardly raised portion 17 upon the rounded side and upper edge thereof, the purpose of which will be readily apprehended. Said trays for pans 18 are slightly dependent from the bottoms to the peripheries thereof; the latter form a downwardly extending flange portion 19 in spaced relation to the side walls thereof. The pans or side trays are so designed as to be readily and easily received within the elongated cutout portion 13 of the plate .10. The flange portion 19 of the pans 1926. Serial No. 125,094.

upon riding over and upon the upwardly raised portion 17 will eventually wholly receive the portion within the channel defined by such plates. The pans when arranged in such positions will be held against accidental displacement whereby the contents of the pans may not be spilled. The invention obviates the usual necessity of entering a cage to replenish water and feed in so far as the pans may be removed and replaced from the outside of a cage or enclosure.

In Figure 5 of the drawings I have illus trated a modified form of the invention contemplating the use of additional and coinpanion plate 10 which may be positioned upon the outside of the cage or enclosure to facilitate the insertion of fastening elements in the form of bolts, not shown, to rigidly sustain the band 15 in a level position in the instance of the pans being utilized for containing drinking water. The remaining structure of the device, as illustrated, embodies the identical structure of the preferred form of the invention.

In Figures 6 and 7 of the drawings I have illustrated a substantially elongated plate 102 to facilitate the support of a pair of the pans 18 used for containing both feed and water. i

The pans are so constructed as to be telescopieally associated in order that the same may be packed in confined area and conveniently carried.

The invention will prove effectively useful in the feeding of animals having ferocious propensities in so far as it would be extremely dangerous to enter a cage housing such an animal to replenish. the feed and water within trays positioned therein. The upwardly raised portion 17 upon the bands 15 provide a locking means for the pans to prevent their displacement while in use and may be so supported at appropriate heights from the floor of the cage to prevent accumulation of extraneous matter therein.

The invention is susceptible of various changes in its form, proportions and minor details of construction, and the right is herein reserved to make such changes properly fall within the scope of the appended claim.

Having thus described my invention what is claimed is:

A. supporting rack for receptacles having upper edge of the bend adapted for reception within the grooved periphery of the receptacle to prevent displacement of the 1nt- 10 ter.
