WVe claim 1. In a metal box or container having a lever adapted for use in raising the lid, a box body of which the rim is formed with a thin shallow rebated portion obtained by slotting the side wall ofthe said body beneath the rim edge in the direction of the circumference and a lever having a tubular part em bracing the said shallow rebated portion and a tail part depending from the tubular part andemerging through the slot beneath the said shallow rehated portion past the edge of 1 the depending skirt part of the lid and lying snugly against the outer face of the box body;

2. In a metal box or container having a lever adapted for usein raising the lid, a box body of which the rim is formed with a thin shallow rebated portion obtained by slotting the side wall of the said body beneath in raising the lid.

3. In a metal box or container having a lever adapted for use in raising the lid, the combination with. a box body of which the rim is formed with a thin shallow rebated portion obtained by slotting the side wall of the said body beneath .the'rim edge in the direction of the circumference, of a lever constituted by a strip of metal which has a portion at one end bent to produce a tubular part for embracing the said shallow rebated portion of the box body rim and the remainder bentinto an obtuse angle so asto extend from the tubular part through the circumferential slot and at the aforesaid angle take a bearin g on the box body and lie snugly against the outer face of the box body.
