IMPROVEMENT IN COMBINED JUGS AND SAUCERS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 170,946, dated December 14, 1875; application filed March 13, 1874.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ALONZO FRENCH, of the city and county of Philadelphia, in the State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and useful Combined Jug and Saucer; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference beinghad to the accompanying drawing, which forms a part of this specification, and represents a section of a combined molasses jug and saucer.
The two sheets of the drawing represent diflerent modes of securing the jug to the saucer.
This invention consists in the combination, with a jug, jar, or pitcher, of a saucer, secured detachably to the bottom or base thereof.
A in the drawing represents a jug, of glass, earthenware, or other material, and B a sau-V oer, preferably made of metal. The said jug and saucer are secured together detachably,
blown or otherwise formed on said base, and
taking into slots or grooves D in the saucer, which mode of attachment is shown in Sheet 2.
I do not claim a pitcher attached to a saucer-shaped base, whether made of glass or of any other material, unless said pitcher and saucer are detachably secured together.
WhatI claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States, is-- As a new article of manufacture, a combined jug or pitcher and metal saucer, secured together detachably, substantially as above described.
