Application filed May 1,
My invention relates to. containers andv refers particularly to.l containers adapted for toilet requisites.
The device of my invention is directed to a container lor a plurality of toilet articles, such as powder compacts, rouges and other articles which are ot'easy access.
Another object of my invention is a device in which a mirror is exposed for use when any of the toilet requisites is exposed for use.
Another ohjectot my invention kis a container for a plurality oiitoilet requisites comprising a pluralityl of sections, or elements, independent ot'` each and without hinged fastening means hetweenthem.
Another; object of my invention is a plurality of compact, or similar containers, movably connected to each other hy means of a cord. l
\ Another object of my invention is a compact,or similar container', the Construction of which presents a novel, artisticV and attractive appearance.
rFhe above mentioned, and other, novel and useiful features of my device will he evident upon a consideration oiinyspecitlcation and its accompanying drawings.
ln the accompanying drawings illustrating one form ot the device of my invention similar parts are designated by similar numerals. i f

11, and carries a mirror 12 hingedly attached 'I to VA at 13 and iush with the inner face of that section. rFwo openings 14, 14, pass through oppositecorner portions of section A, the lower vportion of each opening being of somewhat larger diameterithan `the upper portion. .p
The upper face et section B has the annular recesses 15 and 16. 'A compact 17 and a powder pufiQ 18 are positioned within recess 15 and a rouge carrier 19 having ther hinged lid 2O and containing rouge 21 is positioned within the recess 16. Two hollow cord guides 22, 22 pass through the openings in opposite corner portions and extend. loeyond lthe two faces of sectionB. The under face of section B has a recessed. mirror 23 flush with the tace thereof.
The upper face of section C has a recess 24: within which are a powder compact 25 and, a powder puff 26. A small opening 27 allows the removal of the powder compact hy'the passage of appin, or similar device ytherethrough. Two openings 28, V28, pass through opposite corner portions ci?` section C., the upper portion of each opening being of somewhat largerdiameter than the lower' portion.
A oord 29 passes through the corresponding openings in sections A, Band C, has
a knot 30 at each lower extremity of the openings 28, 28 of `section C and carries a tassel 31.
The cord 29 also passes through the two openings 32, 32 of' the locking member The operation of the device is as follows: 1When the device is not in use,-the locking member 33 is moved `downwardly into,l the position shown in Figure 1, the frictional f` `bothfsections A and B areraised together Contact between 'the cord 29 and theinner faces and edges of the openings 82,' 32 preventing the device from being opened.
X/Vhen it is desired to use the compact 17 the rouge v21,'or to gain access to the coin-p` partment which may contain small artil cles, the locking member 33 is moved rupiA `wardly along the cord 29, and section A raised 'from section B and inclined rearf wardly as shown in Figure 10.d
When it is desired touse thev compact,
and inclined rearwardly in a manner similar l to thatabove described.
@It is'to'beYV noted that whenk access'is obtainablefto any of the compacts or tof the rouge, afmirror is'jpresented tor use.
Itiis to'befurthernoted that the contents otbothjsectionscan be exposed for use witnvout*4 reversing,j or inverting the device, thus presenting-a convenient means jot access.
Itis evident4 that the number of vrecesses within the sections may be varied from those Vways exposed for use, these results being acr sections, allslidable along a cord, jthe cord` shown without going beyond the limits of my invention.` f It will Vthus Vbe seen that myjinvention comprises device containing afrplurality ot' compact, ortoilet' articles, any one of which is-accessible without disturbing the others.` and z in which' a Y Amirror is thus al-V complished ,by a :plurality of independent .actngalso `as a means for carrying the device.` n Y l I do notlimit myseli: to the particular v size, shape, number, arrangement or materiall cord.-
ofpart's as shownV and described, .as Vthese yare given simplyas a means tor clearly describlng my invention.
