BED SHEET.

My invention relates to a bed sheet adapted to fully surround the neck or head of a sleeper in a bed, thus helping to prevent any coldness or catching cold or noise.

I attain this object by the mechanism illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which:

Fig. 1 is a top view of the upper part 01 my device before it is assembled; Fig. 2 is a top view of the lower part of my device before it is assembled; and Fig. 3 is a top view of my complete device when assembled.

Similar letters and numerals reit'er to similar parts throughout the several views:

A is the upper part of my device made of any desired material for a bed sheet. A is the upper end of element A. A is the lower end of element A. A are the side ends of element A. B is the lower part of my device made of any desired material for a bed sheet, said element A being substantially longer in side length than the side length of element B. B is the upper end of element B. B is the lower end of element B. B are the side ends of element B.

The operation of my device is follows:

My device will only be used a top cover bed sheet. And parts A and B hereot are located over the top of the neck of the sleeper. For a double bed, the side length of A can be about 14 feet, and the end length thereof a little over 3 feet; and the side length of B can be about 8 feet, and the end length of B can be about 7 feet. This part A then should have its entire full length gathered and fastened permanently onto the entire full length of part B shown in Fig. 3 to provide a fullness in the edge A The result of this is that the part A, because of its large eXt-ra gathered length all through it, can not only cover the neck, and ii desired. also the head. of either one or two sleepers in the bed, but in addition thereto either one or both of the sleepers can pull part A completely around their neck and if desired also completely around their head and so remain all through their sleep; and when this is done it will not pull the side ends of part B inward, the reason being that the part A, A and A is so much longer than the length of part B This makes it impossible for any cold air to get into the neck or head of the sleeper. In addition thereto, when the sleepers window is open, if part A is put completely around the head of the sleeper, or only over the cars, it largely minimizes for the sleeper the noise which is becoming greater and greater in all the cities of this nation by the running and tooting of taxicabs, busses, trucks and private cars all through the night.

It will of course be understood that my device is not limited to a double bed, but can be used on a single bed, or on any bed larger than a double bed, and the various dimensions herein mentioned can of course be changed to anything larger or smaller as desired. The form of my device shown in Fig. 3 hereof is the most eiiicient, because when element A is gathered and fastened to element B as therein shown, element A at any portion thereof has much extra gathered side length to cover the neck or head of the sleeper, without pulling in the side ends of element B.

I claim:

1. In a top cover bed sheet; a lower top part of material all of full width to cover both sides of the bed, and to be fastened under the bottom of the bed on both sides thereof, the upper end of said lower top part oi material bein Q entirely straight; and an upper top part of material, the upper end and the lower end thereof each being substantially longer than the upper end of said lower top part of material, said lower end of said upper top part of material having its full length gathered and all fastened to the full length of the upper end of the lower top part of material.

2. In a top cover bed sheet; a lower top part of material, with an upper end; an up" per top part of material. the upper end and the lower end thereof each being substantially longer than the upper end of said lower top part of material, said lower end oi said upper top part of material being gathered and fastened to the upperend of the lower top part of material.
