Application filed January 12, 1927, Serial No. 1 6 ),6' 77 This invention relates to a novel bottle dispensing machine, and more particularly to dispensing machines of the type wherein the bottles to be dispensed are exposed to a freezing mixture during the transition period when the bottle is placed in the machine until the same is removed.
The principal object of this device is to furnish means whereby utilizing a simple mechanical movement, bottles-will be continuously fed along through the freezing mixture and ejected from the device by the same means that causes the bottles tobe moved through the freezing mixture.
A further object of the invention is to provide a magazine through which the bottles are passed, of the type wherein the bottles are upright, exposing the bottom and both sides of the bottle to the freezing mixture.
It is common. to have tubes or magazine of semi-elliptical shape, the freezing mixture being placed above the passageway through which the bottles are passed, Which allows only one side of the bottle to be exposed to the freezing mixture. It is thought that a decided improvement is obtained by having the freezing mixture on both sides of the bottle and also underneath the same, as is shown in app licants device.
Another object is to provide means whereby a number of bottles will be partially ejected at the same time so that a number of patrons may be waited on simultaneously; or, if they so desire, a variety of drinks may be exposed for the inspection of the customer, all of the bottles being partially ejected by the same mechanical movement that feeds the bottles through the freezing mixture.
Still another object is to provide means for removing the bottles from the magazine and tube, in case the same become jammed, with out the necessity of removing any of the freezin mixt ure.

Referring to the drawings, like numerals designate like parts. Numeral 1 designates a bottle vending cabinet with a bottle receptacle 2 mounted on the rear of the cabinet and a cover 8 withapertures 4; and 5 therein, the aperture 4 being made to receive a bottle, and aperture 5 to allow the ejection of a bottle 6. A hinge 7 allows lids 8 to cover the apertures 3 and 5. Between the cover 3 are positioned magazines 9 with hinged tops 10. Within the magazines 10 are pusher arms 11 mounted on a rod 12. At the end of rod is a link 13 in turn connected to an adjustable rod 14, which is connected to the link 15, which is attached to the rod 16 on which are mounted ejectors 17. Forming a part of rod 12 is a crank arm 18 which protrudes through the front wall of cabinet 1 Mounted on the front side of cabinet 1 are doors 19 to allow articles being placed in the cabinet below the freezing mixture. A partition 20 located a distance below the magazine '9, allows the freezing mixture to be placed beneath the magazines as well as around the same.
As actually used the lid 8 covering aperture 1 is raised, a bottle placed through said aperture, coming to rest on the bottom of magazine 9. The handle 18 is then turned in a clockwise direction causing pusher arm 11 to project the bottle toward the aperture 5 the space of a bottle. The handle 18 is then rotated in a counter clock-wise direction which causes pusher arm 11 to assume an upright position to the left of aperture a, another bottle is then placed in aperture 4 and the handle 18 rotated in a clock-wise direction to cause pusher arm 11 to properly push bottles an additional space toward the aperture 5. The same procedure is repeated until the magazine 9 is filled.
It will be noted that as the last bottle is placed in the magazine and forced toward the aperture 5, the first bottle placed therein will be forced to rest upon ejector 17 which assumes a horizontal position as the handle 18 is revolved in a clock-wise direction.
When the handle 18 is revolved in a counter clockwise direction the ejector 17 will assume an upright position causing the bottle resting thereon to be partially ejected. This procedure will be repeated in the other mag azines provided they are also filled, thus partially exposing to View a number of bottles at. the same time.
Of course, it it is so desired, the magazines may be filled by simply lifting the cover 3 and the lids to the respective magazines, and bottles placed therein which allows the same to be ejected upon the movement of the handle 18. Of course, prior to the placing of bottles in the magazines, a freezing mixture should be placed around the magazines anl beneath same so as to form a means of cooling the bottles as they pass through the magazmes.
The space below partitions 20, may be utilized for any purpose which an ordinary refrigerator may be used.
The magazines 9 may be readily removed as indicated at 21 by simply lifting up on same as they are slidably attached to the cabinet 1.
lVhile I have described my invention in a preferred form, it is to be understood that various modifications may be made within the limits of the description, and that the parts may be varied in proportion and arrangement as shall be determined by the scope of the followin claims.
lVhat I claim is:
1. A. bottle dispenser comprising-a cabinet, a magazine therein, a pusher element in said magazine, said pusher element mounted on a crank arm, said crank arm mounted in said cabinet, a link member attached at the rear end 01 said crank arm, a rod attached to said member at right angles to said crank arm, a second link attached at the other end of said rod, and an arm parallel with said crank arm attached to said second link member, an ector mounted on said parallel arm.
22. A. bottle dispenser comprising a cabinet, at n'lagazine therein, a pusher element in said magazine, said pusher element mounted. on a crank arm, said crank arm mounted in said cabinet, a link member attached at the rear end of said crank arm, an adjustable rod attached to said link member at right angles, to Said crank arm, a second link attached at the other end of said rod, and an arm parallel with said crank arm attached to said second link member, an ejector mounted on said parallel arm.
3. A bottle dispenser comprising a cabinet, divided by a partition into an upper and lower compartment, a magazine in said upper compartment consisting of four sides, with means of access on the top side, said magazine supported at the end walls of said cabinet and spaced from the side walls, and partition in said cabinet.
i. A bottle dispenser comprising a cabinet divided by a partition into an upper and lower compartment, a magazine in the upper compartment supported by the end walls of said cabinet, said magazine spaced from the partition at the bottom and side walls of said cabinet.
5. A bottle dispenser comprising a cabinet divided by a partition into an upper and lower compartment, a plurality of magazines in the upper compartment, said magazines supported by the end walls of said cabinet and spaced from the side walls and partition, said magazines acting as a guide for bottles, means for propelling bottles through said magazines, means for ejecting said botties from said magazines and a single operable means for operating said propelling and ejecting means.
6. A bottle dispenser comprising a cabinet divided by a partition into an upper and lower compartment, a magazine in the upper compartment, said magazine supported at the end walls of said cabinet, and spaced from the side walls and partition.
7. A bottle dispenser comprising a guide way, means for propelling bottles through said guide way, pivotal means for ejecting said bottles from said guide way, and sinmeans for operating said propelling and ejecting means.
8. A bottle dispenser con'iprising a single straight guideway, means for propelling bottles through said guideway, means for ejecting said bottles from said guideway and a single means for successively operating said propelling and ejecting means.
