cylindrical head having an integral upstanding driving neck 11 for engagement with the usual driving and water feeding tube. Integ'ral with and projecting downwardly from the head 10 is a substantially. flat. blade12 whose lower end is provided with oppositely turned bits 13, opposite sides of said blade being centrally grooved at 14 to permit easy longitudinal slitting and bending of the blade upon heating, when the bits 13 have become worn away to such an extent to require the formation of new bits; Two longitudinal water ports 15 are formed through. theneck 11 and the head 10, the lower ends of said ports being in communication with the upper ends of the grooves 14.
A rib-forming block 16 is welded transversely across each side of the blade 12 and is provided with a lug 17 received in the groove 14 to form a barrier across the latter. The inner edge of each block 16 is provided with notches 18 from the upper to the lower side of said block, constituting, water discharge ports over the bits 13. Two arcuate cover plates 19 are welded at their upper edges to the periphery of the head 10, are welded at their lower edges to the blocks 16, and are welded at their ends to thelongitudinal edges of the blade 12, thereby providing two water chambers 20 disposed at opperspective- 'posite sides of the blade. I claim I 1. A well drilling hit comprising a cylin- 1M drical head, a driving neck coaxial with said head and projecting upwardly therefrom, a blade projecting downwardly from said head and having oppositely turned bits at its lower end, said head and neck having a water port from the upper end of the neck to the lower end of the head and open at one side of said blade, and metal casing means welded to one side of said blade and to the lower end of said head, forming therewith a water chamber communicating with said port, the bottom portion of said casing means having a water discharge opening.
2. A structure as specified in claim 1; said 7 blade side having a longitudinal groove, said bottom portion having an integral lug closing said groove.

A well drilling bit comprising a cylindrical head, a driving. neck coaxial with said head and projecting upwardly therefrom, a blade projecting downwardly fromsaid head and having oppositely turned bits at its lower end, said head and neck having a water port from the upper end'of the neck to the lower end of the head and open at one side of said blade, a transverse rib extending across said one side of said blade near the upper end thereof, said rib having a water discharge port from its upper to its lower side, and an arcuate covering plate secured at its upper edge to the periphery'of said head, secured at its lower edge to said rib, and secured at its ends to longitudinal edge portions of the blade, thereby providing a water chamber V for supplying water to said bits.
4. A-well drilling bit comprising a cylindrical head, a driving neck coaxial with and projecting upwardly from said head, a blade projecting downwardly from said head, said blade having oppositely turned bits at its lower end and a central longitudinal groove in at least one of its sides, said neck and head having a water conducting port opening into the upper end of said groove; a transverse block welded across/one side of said blade near the upper end of the latter and having a lugreceived in saidgroove to form a barrier across the latter, the inner edge of said block having a water conducting notch spaced toward one of its ends from said lug, and an arcuate covering plate welded at its upper edge to said head, welded at its lower edge to said block, and welded at its ends to longitudinal edge portions ofsaid blade, providing a water chamber for supplying water to said bits.
