This invention relates to new and useful improvements in toy vehicles.
One ot' the objects oi" my invention is the provision oi a toy vehicle incorporating in its construction a seesaw so as to provide a vehicle which will be especially useful for children whereby they will obtain a great deal of exercise in operating the vehicle as well as enjoyment in using the vehicle.
Another object of the invention is the provision ot' a toy vehicle included in its construction a seesaw support for the children to ride upon, said support being eccentrically connected to the main axle of the vehicle so that when the vehicle is propelled over the surface, the supporting board will be rocked in the manner of a seesaw whereby the users ot' the vehicle will gain considerable exercise due to the movement of the supporting board upon which they are sitting, and also through the propelling ot the vehicle over the surface.
A Further object oi the invention is the provision of a toy vehicle of the above type, wherein the supporting board thereof can be readily adjusted to accommodate children oi diiii'erent sizes, and the seesaw support is ot such construction that it will readily aeconnnodate one or two children at a time, and the action obtained trom the movement ot the support will be beneficial to the party thereon as it will be necessary for them to exercise their legs considerably for propelling thc vehicle and also due to the move- .nient of the supporting board upon movel mont oit the vehicle.
`Witl1 the above and other' objects in view, the invention consists in the novel features ot construction, the combination and arrangement of parts hereinafter more fully set forth, pointed out in the claims and shown in the accompanying drawings wherein:
Figure 1 is a side elevation of a. toy vehicle constructed in accordance with my inven` tion;

Figure 3 is a sectional view on the line 3-8 of Figure 1;
Figure 4 is a sectional View on the line 4-4 of Figure 1; and
Figure 5 is a sectional 1View on the line ot Figure l.
In carrying out the construction of my improved toy vehicle, I provide a platform which comprises spaced boards 1 and 2. These boards 1 and 2 converge at one end and are connected by means of a U-shaped yoke 3. The lower ends of this yoke are disposed at right angles and secured to the ends oi the boards 1 and 2. Before securing the ends of the yoke to the members 1 and 2, they are disposed at right angles to the body of `the yoke as clearly illustrated in Figure 5.
This positions the body of the yoke 3 at a point above the boards 1 and 2 to form a support for the front steering wheel 4.
The Wheel 4 is mounted upon a transverse pin 5 and positioned between the arms of a yoke 6, attached to the lower end of a steering post 7 The post 7 is provided at its upper end with a handle 8 transversely ot' the post and in position to be readily grasped by the party using the vehicle.
The post 7 is disposed on an incline, as shown in Figurey 1, and is arranged in this position by having the post passl through the ends ot a pivotally mounted yoke 9. The yoke 9 has its intermediate portion disposed between the intermediate portion of the yoke 3 and a cross piece 10 carried by the yoke E3, and is retained in this position by means of a pin 11, having one end threadedto be en- Y gaged by a retaining nut 12.
From this, it will be apparent that the :front end of the platform boards 1 and 2 are supported andthe supporting wheel is used Jfor steering the vehicle.
The ends ot the boards 1 and 2 opposite the steering wheel 4 are slightly spaced and are supported by the axle 13. This axle is in turn supported by the traction wheels 14 on the ends thereof, while the intermediate portion of the axle is formed with a crank 15. Strap bearings 16 are used for connecting the axle 13 with the platform boards 1 and 2.
Connected up with the crank 15 and extending upwardly at an angle is a standard 16, the upper end otwhich is positioned between the arms of the U-shaped member 17 which in'turn is connected to the tiltable platform or seat 18 by means of a bolt 19. The U-shaped member 17 has its arms provided with a plurality of openings 20, any pair of which will be engaged by the bolt 21 for pivotally connecting the seat or platform 18 with the standard 16. Y
Supported upon the platform boards 1 and 2 are the inverted U-shaped standards 22, the intermediate portions being turned atl right angles to the supporting legs and are each provided with a plurality of openings 23. at the other end, traction Wheels on the ends of the axle, a crank at the intermediate portion of the axle, spaced inverted U-shaped standards mounted on the platform and extending longitudinally thereof, a seat member, a U-shaped member having its intermediate portion secured to the underside of the seat member, means for adjustably connecting the ends of the U-shaped member to the intermediate portions of the standard, and means for adjustably connecting one end of the seat member With the crank of the axle.

adapted to receive the securing bolts 27 which are used for connecting arms of the member 25 to the intermediate portions of the U- shaped standards 22.
It will be apparent that the bolts 27 may be passed through any one of the openings 26, aligned with any one of the openings 28 for pivotally supporting, in conjunction With the U-shaped member 17, the seat or platform 18.
It will be apparent from the foregoing, that the seat or platform 18, through the ad- `instability of the U-shaped members 17 andV 25 may be positioned at various angles and may also be raised and loweredin accordance with the size of the child using the vehicle.
The platform 18 may be adjusted so that a smaller child may sit on the front end and do the steering, while a larger child may occupy the rear end and Propel the vehicle which, during its movement Will through the connection to the .crank 15 of the platform 18 cause the platform to be operated in the manner of a seesaw whereby the child sitting on the rear of therplatform Will obtain considerable leg exercise through the up and down movement of the platform and the Contact of his feet with the surface over which the vehicle is traveling for lpropelling the Vehicle forwardly.
It will be apparent that in the construction of my improved toy vehicle, the parts are of a simple nature, so that they can be readily manufactured at a very low cost and the construction of the parts are also of such nature that it can be readily put together or taken apart and will occupy a minimum amount of space for shipping purposes. y
