The invention relates to tables and more particularly to extension dining tables.
AItis customary 'in the manufacture of eX- tension tables to yemploy slides which are usually supplied as self-contained slide assemblies adapted to be suitably secured to the table top. Such slide assemblies consist of several 'slide meinbersgrouped together and` 2.0 separate slide assemblies.
Another object `is to provide a knock-.down yextension table which can be conveniently i and quickly assembled and .taken d oivn and which can be vpacked for shipment in a com- 25 paratively small and compact container.

There are two separable aligned side rails 11 at each side of the table, and each end rail 12 with its two attached side rails forms a separable frame section complementary to the frame section formed by the other end rail and its tivo attached side rails. A table top section 15 forming a part of each frame section is secured to the upper edges of the railsI in each frame section, preferably by means of screws 1G, as seen in Fig. 3, projecting from the rails upwardly into the table top.
Each side rail 11 has a longitudinal groove 17 formed in its inner face, and the aligned grooves 17 in each pair of aligne-d side rails receive a longitudinal rib 18 projecting from one face of a slide member 19, the other face ofthe slide member being providedV with a similar longitudinal rib 20. guide blocks 21 are secured to the under face of the table top sections near the meeting edges thereof and in spaced parallel relation to the adjacent side rails, and each guide block is provided with a longitudinal groove 22 re ceiving the rib 20 of the adjacent slide inember 19. The guide blocks 21 are secured to the table top by means of screws 23 projecting upwardly into the table top as seen in Fig. 3. Each .slide member 19 is preferably of elongated cruciforin cross section as seen in Fig. 3, although it may be of inverted T-shaped cross-section, and has its upper edge on the saine level as the under face of the table top sections in order to support filler leaves 24 when the table frames are drawn apart. In order to limit thescparating movement of thc table frames, a removable threaded pin or dlowel 25 is screwed into the end portion of each slide member 19 to project laterally therefrom in position to engage the end of the adjacent ,guide block 21, which may be provided With a notch 26 at its end to receive the pin .and thereby extend the range of movenient of the table sections without need for shortening the block. lf an additional center may befc'onv'eniently attached to a cross meintom edges of the slide members 19, as seen in Y Fig. 3.
