This invention relates to washing machines and to means for operating the'same,

.an object being to provide a Fower mechanism in which power derived rom the rockmachine may be operated incomfort and with a minimum of effort. 1

Having described the invention what is claimed is 1. In a washing machine, a frame, a cylinder mounted for operation therein, a frame extension including spaced parallel angle rails, means rigidly connecting the frame extension and frame, a rocking device having parts movahly engaging the rails, springs connecting the device and frame extension and the device and frame, and means operatively connecting the device and cylinder to operate the latter when the device is rocked. 2.
