These rollers are arranged on opposite sides of the blade, and as the blade is o erated it passes between the rollers. The rst roller tends to-sharpen it with a more or less-rough edge, while the latter two rollers give it a smoother finish and a smoother edge. f
The blade part consists of a continuous the central part thereof a series of holes 16, which are adapted to engage the pins 8 on the rollers or wheels. By this means, as theV rollers'are rotated, the blade is advanced or shifted. The purpose of this advancement of the blade is to be able to remove that part of the blade that has become dull and to advance a part of it that is keen and ready for shaving purposes. The blade is advanced or shifted in such a manner as to cause the inside part of the blade to advance or shift through the sharpening rollers first, and then through the leather or smooth faced rollers second.
In Figures 6, 7, 8 and 9 are shown modified forms of this razor, in which the ends of the blade strip are attached to the rollers instead of the strip being continuous. The razor strip is attached to the roller in a man ner indicated by the numeral 7 of Figure 6. This blade may be advanced or shifted one way as far as therollers will permit it, and then advanced or shifted in the other direction until the complete, or practically the complete razor blade is taken u on the iirst roller. These blades can be s arpened by removing them, or by applying to them as ther are fitted in the casing, some sharpening too The blade in this form is indicated by the numeral 15,which is attached to the rollers in the manner indicated above. For the purvose of operating the rollers to adjust the lade there is a key member similar to that andtwo'other rollers 14, which have shown in the other form, and indicated byI the numeral 11. This key member 1s adapted to fit in a socket in the shafts whlch carry the rollers, and may be applied to either one of the'rollers as preferred.
Theparts of the casing, composed of cover members 1 and 2, may be suitably locked 1n closed position by any means convenient.` If the members 1 and 2 are not to be opened the spindle upon which the rollersV are fastened maybe permanently attached'to the covers 1 and 2 so that the covers can not be opened but are held in permanent relation to each other, however permititng the roller to rotate in proper bearin in the cover members.

1. In a safety razor, a casing formed of two pivotally connected'side members, rollers removably and adjustably supported by sald casing, a continuous blade member carried by sald rollers, and means on the casing for rotatin the rollers to shift the blade and a pair o blade supports on one side member and a series of teeth on the other member extending over the blade.
2. In a safety razor, a caslng formed o two pivotally connected side members, rollers carried by said casing, a razor blade strip carried by saidv rollers, and key means to rotate the rollers to shift the blade, and sup ortingand protecting means for said bl e on said side members.
3.` In a safety razor, a casing composed of a pair of side members pivotally connected along one edge, a plurality of rollers removably lcarried by said casing, and a razor blade strip carried by said rollers.
4. In a safety razor, a casing formed of pivotally connected side members, a pair of rollers supported by said casing, said rollers having radially extending pins thereon, .a continuous strip razor blade carried by sald rollers engaged by said pins, and means associated with said rollers to rotate the rollers to shift said strip and a pair of blade supports extending from one of said members.
5. In a safety razor, a rectangular'casing composed of a pair of pivotally connected side members having a handle thereon, a blade detachably carried by said casing, said blade being formed of one continuous strip of blade material, means for supportin the blade in the casing and adapted to shi the blade with respect to the casing, and shar enend within my invenlll honing rollers engaging said blade as the blade is shifted by said supporting rollers. 7 In a safety razor, a casing, a pair of rollers supported by said casing, a flexible blade strip supported and shifted by said rollers, a pair of rough honing rollers enf gaging opposite faces of said blade, and a pair of smooth honing rollers engaging opposite faces of said blade. 10 8. In a safety razor, a casing composed of a pair of pivotallyconnected cover members, a pair of rollers supported by said casing, a fiexible blade strip supported and shifted by said rollers, a pair of rough honing rollers supported by said casingand engaging opposite faces of said blade, all of said rollers being adapted to be removed from said casing when the cover members are opened out.
9. In a safety razor, a casing formedof side members pivotally connected along one edge thereof, a iiexible continuous razor blade carried by said casing, a pair of blade supports extending from one of saidmembers and engaging one-side of said blade, and a plurality of teeth extending from the other of said side members and engaging the other side of saidblade opposite said supports.

In a safety razor, a casing formed of rectangular side members pivotally con- I' nected along one of the edges thereof, and a fiexible continuous razor blade carried by said casing and adapted to travel along the edge ofthe casing opposite the pivotal connection of the side members. f 11.
