My present invention has reference to a lettering penof the type empl'oyedfor round writing that is, the printing of are letters such as those of the Old English type, Chinese printing and the like. 1 a

The object of the invention is the provision of a pen for this purpose whose blades. or nibs are of celluloid which renders the same non-corrosive and which yields the desired amount of flexibility, the said nibs being held in the pen holder by a plug of a novel construction, which permits of the nibs being fully inserted in the holder or partly withdrawn therefrom so that the ink space be tween the nibs and the distance between the points of the'nibs can vary;

To the attainment of the foregoing the invention consists in the improvement hereinafter described and definitely claimed.

In this instance two celluloid blades or nibs 12 are employed, each having its edges tapered to its outer end but, of course the said outer or active end of the nibs maybe of any desired width. Each nib on its upper end is centrally formed with an extension in the nature of an arm 13, the said arms designed tobe received inoppositely 55 disposed grooves in a plug 14 that is inserted in and frictionally engages with the Wall of an opening in the pen holder 11. My improvement is of an extremely simple naturebut presents a device which may be cheaply manufactured, which is strong, which'will be found thoroughly efiicient in practical use, which" is non-corrosive and wherein the pennibs may bereadily withdrawn from the holder in the cleaning thereof. 7

Especially in the construction disclosed in Figures 5 to 8 it will be noted that the pen nibs may have their extensions or arms 13 either wholly or partly inserted in the 3G grooves ofthe plug 14, so that the nibs may be properly adjusted with respect to each other andink-held between the nibs will be permitted to freelyand slowly flow therefrom in accordance with the purpose of the user. Having described the invention, I claim:

1. A lettering'pen as herein described having celluloid nibs provided with extensions, holder for ,the nibs having an opening to receive said extensions therein, a plug receivedinand frictionally' contacting with the holder and said plug having angularly dis' posed longitudinally arrangedgrooves in the to hold' the nib extensions.

2. A lettering pen as herein described having celluloid nibs-provided with extensions,
