r This invention relates to improvements in concrete mixers.
One of the'objects of my invention is the provision of improved locking means for concrete mixers, wherein the mixing drum can be quickly and easily locked either in a charging or discharging position and when moved to a charging position will be locked against movement until releasedby the operator.
Anotherobject of my invention is the provision of a locking device for the mixing drums of concrete mixers, wherein means is provided for direct engagement with theopcrating shaft that raises the drum to dis charging position whereby to hold the drum in discharging position until released by the operator, such means being 'moved'to an oper- 5 ative position whereby to automatically lock the drum when it is returned to its normal or charging position. s I
A' further object of the invention is the provision of locking mechanism of the above character which includes a hand lever normally positioned in a substantially vertical gs'plane and provided with a notch portion adapted to be engaged byapivoted arm car ried by the drum shaft for maintaining'the drum against movement while in charged position and adapted'to be released from the lever to move the drumto dischargingposition whereby, the lever can be moved upon its pivot for engaging the lockingpin carried thereby with the locking gear carried by th drive shaft which rocks the drum.
