In the modification shown which forms but a single arm provided with a` circular bearing recess 46.-",In'fth1s construction, the hingevstrap 14 is -formed with` a`trunnion 48 andlacaiu 50 integral therewith; the trunnion 48 engaging in the bearing irecess 46 while the cam 50 engages in the slot formed by the rib 28., In assembling this construction, the hinge strap 14V is'mounted in thebearing recess 46 before the door 16 is secured thereto. s
In both constructio s, the operation of the door 16 is controlled by any desired means,
as,"for instance, a; suitable latching mecha nism operated byl a. track ramp. When the door 16 is released and drops, the cam 430 or 50 is operated therebyand through its engagement with the rib 28 withdraws the latch 20 from beneath the free end-of the door 52 permitting the Vdoor to drop. The door restoring device `will restore the door 52 to its "ffraised position before the door 16 is raised,
and when the door 16 is raised the cam- 30 or 50 will operate the latch 20 toits door holdl ing position; Restoring the door 16 to its iraised position will bringthe door into len-` gagement with its retaining latch.
The drawings disclose the-preferred embodiment of the invention, butl it is to be understoodV that they areior illustrative pur- Vwithout vention.
