. This invention relates to a new composition of matter and has particular reference to a new and improved composition of matter intended primarily for the purpose of treating 5 knitted silken wear such as hosiery and the I like.

The ingredients, when mixed accordingto the foregoing, are capable, then of bringing about'the results above mentioned by'placing the articleto be treated therein permitting the same to remain immersed in the composition of matter for approximately thirty minutes, whereupon the article is removed and placed Where it may dry. When the article becomes dry, it may be washed with any good soap in water, then rinsed and dried. It is preferred that the washing and rinsing process be done. in warm water to obtain the best results.
Though the invention has been described with great particularity, the details of the embodiment of the invention herein shown, are not to be construed as being limitedthereto, as changes in arrangement and substitu- "tion of equivalents may be made by those skilled in the art without departing from the I invention'as defined in the appended claims. What is claimed is: 1. A composition of matter for preserving knitted textile fibers comprising two parts alum'with onepart each of magnesium sulphate and sodium chloride, the said parts being mixed with warm water.
2. A composition of matter for treating silken textile fabrics comprising alum two parts, magnesium sulphate and sodium chloride one part each with one quart of warm water. 7 I v p Dallas,,Texas, March 19, 1929.
