This invention relates to cigarette holders and aims primarily to provide an improved and novel type. of cigarette holder, which is especially designed and adapted for restrainingly engaging the cigarette at any desired and selected point thereon, which permits placing of the cigarette directly between the lips of the smoker, the. use of which effectually prevents staining or soiling of the smokers fingers, from which the cigarette .stub is rapidly and expeditiously ejected without the necessity oftouching such stub, which may be fabricated from any suitable material, which lends itself readily to variations in form and design, and which may be embellished in either a simple or elaborate manner as desired and found expedient.

Contemplated by the present inventionis a' cigarette holder embodying astem fabri- 29 cated from any suitable material, and embellished with any suitab-ledesign as, desired;

a tubular shank mounted upon one end'of said stem; a resilient hook-shaped cigarette holding member rigidly secured to the outer end of said tubular shank; a flexible member normally conforming to the shape of said holding member for ejecting the cigarette stubs therefrom; and means mounted within the tubular shank and operableby the finger 30 or thumb nail of the smoker for actuating the ejecting member to effect ejection of the stubs without the necessity, of touching same; all of which are important objects and primary features of the invention and are to becorelated in the broad aim of enhancing the elficien'cy of the devicefor' general use.

The above, and additional objects which will hereinafter be more specifically treated are attained by such meansas are shown in the accompanying drawings, described in the following specification and then more clearly pointed out in the claims, which are appended hereto and form part of this application.

' sea Before taking up the detailed description of the drawings, a general exposition of the Specific purposes, features, and functions of the cigarette holder evolved by the. present invention will he undertaken. Heretoforait has been customary to fabricate cigarette holders in the well-known tubular form or type. Unfortunately, however, these tubular holders are objectionable to acomparatively large number of smokers, inasmuch assuch holders cool the smokeand positively and effectually prevent the smoker placing the cigaretteydirectlyin contact-with the lips.

5. In a cigarette holder, in combination, a stem, a tubular shank mounted upon one end thereof, a hook-shaped cigarette holding member secured to the outer end of sald shank, and means mounted Within said shank and co-acting With said member for e ecting cigarette stubs therefrom.

6. In a cigarette holder, in combination, a stem, a tubular shank mounted upon one end thereof, a hook-shaped cigarette holding member secured to the outer end of said shank, and a flexible cigarette stub ejecting member normally conforming to the shape of said holding member and extending at its inner end Within said shank for manual actuation by the smoker.
