f Application filed October 's, was. s egm ;ice;
Thisinvention relates generally to metalworking tools and, more particularly, to a certain new and useful improvement in tools especially adapted for removing dents ,and
i the like from-automobile, fenders,.-my inventionhaving for its chief object the provision of a tool of the type":-for..the purpose stated which is simple' and inexpensive in construction, compact and durable, readily engageable with the fender, conveniently and easily operatively manipulated, and 'eflicient in the performance of its intended functions. And with the above and other objects in view, my invention resides in the novel features of' form, construction, arrangement,
and combination of parts hereinafter-described and pointed-out in the claims.
In the accompanying drawing -r I v Figure 1 is a perspective view of a metal- ?';.20 working'tool of invention, illustrated as in working operation upona fender;
Figure 2 is a plan or edge view of the tool Figure 3 is a side elevationalview of the tool, showing the tool in operative Working 3.12 engagement with a fender;
Figure 4 is a detailsectionofthe tool, taken j approximately on the line l4:, Figure 2; and
Figures 5 and 6 illustrate in elevation inter- 9 changeable hammer-heads of the tool;
Referring now morein detail and by'reference characters to the drawing, which illustrates a preferred embodiment of my invention, the tool includesa pair of tongs A, e which comprises a suitably elongated leg or blade 1 formed or provided at an end with an angular enlargement or head 2, which latter, in turn, isfor med or provided with a aw 3 preferably, for purposes presently appear- 7 as! ing, fiat'on iitsginner face, as at 4, all as best seen in Figures 2 and 3. Disposed flatwise V in relation to the leg 1 and pivotally secured thereto, as at 5, for hinge-movemenu is the other leg 6 of .the tongs A, which leg 6 is likewise provided at an end with a head 7 having a jaw 8 opposed to and for co-operation with'the aw 3 and similarly preferably flat on its inner face, as at 9, also all as best seen in FiguresQand 3. The tongs A, in the manipulation of the tool, are adapted for de workfto' be repaired, an d"to obviate marring V of the fender one orboth of'gthe jaws -3, 8; ;is'
