The invention relates to hat holders particularly adapted for use in automobiles adapted to be secured to any portion of the automobile, however preferably to the upper inner side of the top, for instance to one of the bows, and is provided with oppositely disposed hat receiving loops formed from spring material, which may be easily pulled downwardly for inserting a hat.

A further object is to form both loops from a single piece of spring wire having connecting arms in parallel relation and which arms extend through spaced rolls of a securing plate which plate is attached to a support.

A further object is to provide the spaced connecting arms adjacent the inner sides of the hat receiving loops with downwardly offset U-shaped bends which receive the brim of a hat when the crown of the hat is passed through the loops.

A further object is to provide the connecting arms between the U-shaped offset portions and the adjacent ends of the rolls with a plurality of convolutions, which convolutions act as springs for increasing the spring action of the loops when they are pulled downwardly thereby allowing a great range of movement to the loops when placing hats therein.

A further object is to space the loops and proportion the connecting arms of the loops whereby pairs of loops may be placed in crossed relation if desired. v,

With the above and other objects in view the invention resides in the combination and,

arrangement of parts as hereinafter set forth, shown in the drawing, described andclaimed, it being understood that changes in the precisc embodiment of the invention may bemade within the scope of what is claimed without departing from the spirit of the invention. V

Referring to Figure i wherein a bottom perspective view is shown of the plates 4 in crossed relation, said plates are held in crossed relation by a single securing screw 3 and it will be notedthe connecting members connecting the loops 7 are sufliciently long to allow this arrangement, thereby aliowing four hats to be held adjacent each ot er.

From the above it will be seen that a hat and the loops 7 i holder is provided which is particularly adapted for use in automobiles, and the hat holder is simple in construction, may be easily and quickly applied to a conventional form of automobile by a single screw and the convolutions 6 in the arms 6 allow a relatively wide range of flexibility to the device, thereby allowing a hat to be easily and quickly placed therein. It will also be seen'that the device is formed from two pieces of material, therefore it will be seen the device may be cheaply manufactured and sold. 7
