This Ainvention relates to blinds as used 3 for screening windows or balconies and consisting of a strip of fabric attachedA at its upper end to ajroller, usually of the springcontrolled type7 and upon which such strip is adapted to wind and unwind.'
It is'well recognized that a blind of this nature when drawn completely down behind an open Window or other opening, tends to prevent the free passage of air with the result that insuilicient ventilation is obtained and the blind is aptto flap ,andk so cause annoyance. v v
It is the object of the present invention however to provide a blind of this nature of novel and special construction whereby the saine may be opened at its intermediate part, thereby overcoming the above mentioned objectionable features and permitting a certain amount of light to enter without exposing the room or other place behind such blind. v
ln carrying this-object into effect, accord- -ing to the present invention the blind is divided 'transversely into two portions the kupper of which is attached to the roller,
while the other or lower portion is adjustably connected to suoli upper portion by means of vertically arranged straps the bight portions of which are passed through to make running connection with eye-formations carried by the said upper portion, thereby permitting of the lower portion depending continuously with the upper portion or at any desired interval therebelow.
In order that the nature of the invention and its construction may be clearly understood, it will now be fully described and explained with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which:- y

According` to the present invention the blind is dividedtransversely into two portions, namelyan upper portion 3 adapted for attachment to the roller 1 and a-lower portion 4 adj ustably connected ,to they upper portion 3- topermit of its dependinggeontinuously with the latter or at anydesired interval therefrom. j
