This invention relates to improvements in the tool known as plasterers paddle, and the principal object of the invention is to provide a tool which shall be more efficient than those made in accordance with current practice.
Specifically, an object of the invention is to provide a paddle which shall aflord a smoother finish on the plaster than obtainable with paddles made prior to my invention.
A still further object of the invention is to provide a paddle which can be more readily freed of dried plaster accumulations than paddles of current form.
In the attached drawing, I have illustrated a paddle made in accordance with my invention.
I have discovered that a paddle of this 29 type formed of flexible rubber has material advantages over paddles made, in accordance with the present practice, of wood or f other rigid materials. I have discovered, for example, that a paddle made of flexible rubber is capable of affording asmoother finish on the plaster surfaces than can be obtained by paddles made of non flexible and non-resilient materials. Another material advantage of the paddle made in'accord- 3G ance with the present invention is that plaster drying on the paddle maybe quickly and easily removed by flexing the paddle.
This flexing results in the dry plaster cracking and flaking off, leaving the surfaces of the paddle entirely clean and in condition for further use. i Y
The general shape of the paddle may vary,
although a paddle of the form illustrated in the drawing has afforded excellent results.
40 In the present instance the paddle including the handle is formed of an integral body of flexible rubber, but there may be modifications in this respect without departure from the invention.
