Description

June 24,1930. I M, IV ET AL I 1,767,240 URINAL Filed Sept. 25, 1929 @QAM 1 Patented June 24, 1930" p I r l UNETE STATES PATENT. OFFECE nnnoin ivonY AND THOMAS wan Lann orinnrni, were V I URINAL V i r Application filed September 25,1929. SerialNo. 395,083i i This invention relates broadly to medical to the'front wall 7 and at its rear end is appliances, and has more particular referclosed, the rearwall-8 at its apex being ence to devices especially adapted for use extended as at 11 for closing said neck at by bed ridden patients. said'end. Throughout the major part of its .The primary objectof the invention is to longitudinal length,.the neck communiprovide a urinal especially adapted for use 'cates with the'interior of the container, how by a bed ridden patient, the device being ever, the front wall7 gradually thickens substantially triangular in cross-section, the longitudinally towards its apex as at 12 1 sides and end walls of the container at their forming a bottom 1-3'for the neck 10 of the upper ends merging into an elongated tubuforward end of the neck. The neck 10 ex-' From'the foregoing, it is apparent that tends longitudinally from the rear wall 8, a urinal embodying such features as herein 90 to provide a device of this nature, which is 16 is threaded in the opening for closing pointed out will greatly enhance the possibility and utility of a device of this nature.
Even though we have herein shown and described the preferred embodiment of our invention, it is to be understood that the same is susceptible to changes fully comprehended by the spirit of the invention as herein described, and the scope of the appended claims.
Having thus described our invention, what we wish to claim as new is p 1. In a device of the class described, a portable container "having a relatively "broad bottom and a narrow top, the walls of said container at the top merging into a tubular neck extending longitudinally of the-container, said neck being closed at one end and opened at its opposite end, and the side walls of said container curving inwardly and upwardly from the bottom to the top.
2. In a device of the character described, a container having a relatively broad bottom and a narrow top, the side walls of said container curving inwardly and upwardly from the bottom to the top, said side walls at their top merging :into a longitudinally merging into an elongated tubular neck inclining rearwardly from one end wall to the other, said neck being open at one end and closed at its opposite end, the bottom wall of said container being provided with a drain outlet, and a plug normally closing said outlet opening.
In testimony whereof we alfix our signatures.
