This invention relates to an improved apparel clasp for personal wear and has more particular reference to a lingerie clasp eX- pressly intended for feminine wear.
Briefly stated, the novelty is predicated upon a new type of fastener which includes an attaching pin formed integrally on an especially designed strap receiving and retaining clasp, the clasp and pin being disposed in spaced parallelism and in the same plane with each other, whereby to adapt the complete fastener for general utilitarian and ornamental purposes.
In carrying the invention into practice, I have evolved and produced a novel article which is characterized by unusual simplicity and economy, durability and strength, ease of application and removal, expeditious manipulation in attaching and detaching the strap from the clasp and other advantages which serve to better fulfill the requirement of a fastener of this class.

The improved fastener is formed from a single body of appropriate material, preferably metal or equivalent material possessing proper resilient qualities. It comprises two primary parts; namely, a retaining or attaching pin 6 and a strap or lingerie'clasp 7. These parts 6 and 7 are joined together by a connecting web 8 and it will be noted that the clasp and pin are arranged in substantially the same horizontal plane and in spaced parallelism with each other. The clasp is in the nature of a loop of flattened elliptical form and has an inturned end 9 overlapped by a complemental outwardly flared end 10. This provides an entrance whereby the straps or other details may be readily slipped intotfie loop for maintenancewithout detaching t e pin.
The pin includes a back 11 and a pointed end 12 engageable in the flattened guard and keeper 13. The pin may be left attached to the garment to place the clasp in a position for ready connection and disconnection of the strap, for instance, as shown in Figure 5.
The improved article is capable of diversified uses. It is practical and serviceable not only from a standpoint of utility, but from a standpoint of ornamentation and design. It may be made of metal, materials of appropriate texture, and ornamented in suitable manners. It is strong and durable and may e employed with ease for serving many purposes. For instance, it may be employed for holding belt ends, cuffs, ribbons, lingerie straps, neckties, and various other uses.
It provides an appropriate brace and is sufficiently flexible to facilitate manipulation of attaching and detaching and is designed for comfort in that it permits relative slippage of the straps with respect to the pin and clasp, etc.
It is thought that persons skilled in the art to which the invention relates will be able to obtain a clear understanding of the construc tion and features and advantages after considering the description in connection with the drawings. Therefore, a more lengthy description is regarded as unnecessary.
'Minor changes in shape, size, materials, and rearrangement of details coming within the field of invention claimed may be resorted to in actual practice if desired.
I claim:
As a new product of manufacture, an apparel fastener comprising an elongated'looplike clasp formed of substantially flattened material and having overlapping ends pro viding an entrance, the outer end being flared outwardly to facilitate insertion of apparel straps and the like, a web formed integral vwith said clasp, and a safety pin carried by said web and disposed in spaced parallelism with said clasp and in a plane substantially even with the clasp.
