Suit ably secured theretofand slidably' engaging VThe support 16, yieldingly in raised posipreferably, is held 7 extending between opensings 21 and 22 in the support and base repointed out by the underspect-ively. i-The upward movement of the support 16 is limited by bolts 23 secured thereto and passing through openings 24 in the base provided with a shoulder 25 serving as a stop to engage the head of the bolts. The lower outer die members are movably carried upon'the support 16 and each is provided at its lower outer surface with a wearing block 31' adapted to engage a suitably shaped cam 32 positioned upon the inneri'ipper surface of each of the projections 11 'The inner upper surface of the die memberBO is provided with a wearing block through elongatedslots 5 therein and threaded into thefsupport 16. The upper outer" portion of each corner member 40 is provi d'ed' with awearing block secured there to in any suitable manner asby screws 46.
Adjacent corner members are connected by amember 41 movable relative thereto and secured thereto by screws 42 passing through elongated slots 43 in the member 41 and engaging the corner members. Theinner surface of each corner member 40 is provided with a wearing block 47 secured thereto in any suitable manner as byscrews 50 and adapted for cooperative engagement with cams 48 secured upon the upper corner portions of the block 13. The corner portions 40 of the inner low'erclie members normally are'held in engagement with the cams 48 by springs :51positioned with one end against the end of a slot'52 in the support 16 and with the opposite end engaging a pin 53 secured in the corner portions 40 and extend ing downwardly into the slots.
- An upper die member 55 is suitably mounted upon a reciprocable ram and is shaped to engage the body of a sheet metal panel 57 placed upon the lower outer die member 30 and to pass within the opening of'the panel and engage the flange 58 thereof and the top. surface of the inner die members.
The upper die member 55 issuitablyguided in its movement towards the lower die members'by guides 60 secured thereto and adapt- 7 ed for slidable engagement in guideways 61 in the block 13.
In operation, a body a sheet metal door panel 57 of the type shown in Figs. '1 and 2 having a flange 58 deter mining the outer end of a window opening is placed upon the wearing blocks 33 of the outer lower die members with the flange 58 surrounding the inner die members. The
' upper die member 55, is'then moved downwardly to engage thepanel upon theouter lowerdie members and move the latter downwardly together with the support 18.; ing thisfdownward movement the "wearing blocks3l engage the-cams 32 which" direct the outer lower die members inwardly.
along the topsurface of the support-Q 16 so as "to bring the wearing blocks 33 into en-- ga'gement with the flange 58. At-the same;
time the upper die member is passed into the window opening to engage the opposite side of the flange 58 and press'thesame against the wearing blocks '33 of the outer lower die members 30-thereby sizing and setting the window opening. ,Upon further downward movement, the upper die member engages the corner'portions of the inner lower die members causing the same to move downwardly together with the support 16 thereby bringing the wearing blocks 4:7,into
engagement with the cams 48" causing the corner portions of the lower inner die members to move outwardly toward the corners of the window opening and turn the depending portion of the flange 58 under the lower,
surface of the wearing blocks 33- ontheiouter 1 lower die members. 1
