This invention relates to display devices and an important object is to provide novel and simple means by which the water impervious features of a tent or the like may be publicly or otherwise demonstrated by placing an article highly susceptible to damage by Water within the tent and directing a continuous flow of water over the tent, the
article within the tent being within plain view of observers for inspection so that the condition of the same and consequently the resistance of the, tent to water may be readily observed.
A further and equally important object is 1 to provide a display device of the character specified which is of highly simplified construction, durable and which may be allowed to operate for long periods without adjustment or repair.
Other objects and advantages will be apparent during the course of the following de scription.
In the accompanying drawings forming a part of this application and in which like numerals are employed to designate like parts throughout the same,

In the drawing wherein for the purpose of illustration is shown a preferred embodiment of the invention the numeral 5 designates a cabinet having sides 6 connected to legs 7 the'lower portions of which may be extended below the sides 6 for sanitary reasons.
In carrying out the invention a portion of the top 8, which may be of wood or the like, serves as the floor of a tent 9. In practice the tent may be of the type illustrated, although this is not necessary and a rldge pole 10 may be supported at the ends thereof by standards 11, all of which 1s clearly lllustrated in Figures 2 and 3.

in Figures 1 and 4 to be anchored in place by flexible elements 12 attached to hooks 14. Attention is especially directed to Figure 4 which illustrates that the opposite sides of a transversely curved tank 16 are provided. with offsets 18 resting on't-he top of the cabinet and having uprights20 concealing the anchoring devices 14 and at the same timeacting as troughs or water directing devices by which the water which flows from the surface of the tent is caused to return tothe container 16. Thisfi ure' further illustrates that the. upper edge portions of the uprights 20 are provided with inward and downward bends to form bafiles for use in avoiding water losses as a result ofsplashing of the water against the inner surfaces of the uprights 20. In summarizing the "foregoing feature' 'it will be seen that the uprights 20 not only conceal the anchoring devices to provide an 'attractive display, but also assureo the' return of the water from the surface of the tent to the tank 16 from where it is subsequently pumped over the'tent as will be describedl p A pipe 22 is extended from the bottom or the tank 16 and has connection with a gear or other pump 24. The pump 24 is shown to be provided with a discharge or outletpipe 26 extended upwardly to a point abovelth'e tent and having a perforated spray pipe 27leX- tending parallel to and immediately above the ridge pole of the tent so that thew ate r is discharged on the opposite sides of the tent. Of course, one end of the spray pipe is closed I as illustrated and the perforations in the spray pipe may be arranged to direct aseparate spray of water over each side of the tent.
In carrying out the invention the pump 24 may be driven by an electric or other motor n) 28 through a suitable transmitting mechanism such as a belt 30. Attention might be directed to Figure 3 which illustrates that the motor is mounted on a receiving tank 32 through the medium of an L-shaped bracket 34, or other suitable support. The function of the tank 32 is to collect water or oil drippings from the motor. A drain cook 36 may be connected to the tank 32. The water in the circulating system may be drained through a di p c v with'this invention isinteresting to watch e and, of course, it iscontemplated that suitable other articles highly susceptible to damage by 1 waterarejplaced on the floor of the tent'so that when'the circulation 'of water is set up the water impervious features of the tent will be amply demonstrated.
